Huskies Men's End Losing Streak

Tuesday night the Washington
Huskies men's basketball team
ended two game losing streak.

At home the Washington Huskies
beat in state rival Eastern Washington
87-69. The Huskies had much better
effort than the previous two games
in losses to UCLA and USC.

The Huskies did make a few changes
including putting Mekhi Mason back
into the starting lineup and responded
leading the team with 23points. The
Huskies had a great night shooting
from the field just over 60 percent.
This included over 51 percent from
3-point land. They made five more
3s than Eastern Washington.

In all four of the Huskies starters
scored in double figures which
they need to do regularly to
achievewins. The Huskies did
well offthe bench with 15 points
total.Christian King who is starting
toreceive more minutes led the
bench with 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Jase Butler had more minutes to
though scoring only three points
he had four rebounds and five
assists.Both King and  Butler could
be important part of the  rotation.
When Big Ten play resumes the
Huskies likely will go with an eight
man rotation.

What made Mason's performance
impressive was that he was in
foul trouble as well and left the
game just over nine minutes
remaining. This helped having
a good game from King and
Butler too.

The Huskies next game will be
against Washington State Cougars.
Though not in the same league
together the Cougars will show
how much better the Huskies are.
The Huskies in total three games
remaining in December. The
Cougarsare 8-2 while the Huskies
are 7-3.The Cougars have a game
on Saturdaybefore facing the
Huskies whichmay help them
against them.
