Mariners in recent weeks since they
haven't made any major moves.
There are a few Mariners groups
that mention about moves they
could make. I am not much on
speculation since most of them
don't happen.
This is another year the Mariners
haven't made any moves that will
make any difference to the team
before Christmas. They have signed
minor league deals though likely
none will help the team besides
adding depth in case of injuries.
Now we see whether they sign or
trade before Christmas which at
this point doesn’t seem likely
unless it is one that has been in the
works.
We do know at this point the Mariners
need a first, second and third baseman.
Luke Raley maybe the guy at first against
righties however someone else against
lefties. Raley is an outfielder to so he
would be the 4th outfielder at this point
to. I am surprised they haven't signed
either Justin Turner or Carlos Santana.
Maybe that is a conclusion that just
hasn't finished.
At second base the Mariners may not
sign or trade and stay in house with
Leo Rivas, Ryan Bliss and Dylan Moore.
Though Rivas and Bliss have shown signs
they don't seem to be the answer. Dylan
Moore isn't either in my book. We may
have to live with it.
Third base is the big question and who
will that be. The Mariners front office
may know but not the fans. They may
go for a free agent or a trade. Staying
in house wouldn't make sense unless
they bring in a second baseman.
I am not sure the hitting will be better
however Edgar Martinez oversees that
department so does give us hope. The
most important is Julio gets off to a
good start. Everyone else may follow.
Have a wonderful holiday and we see
how things go for the Mariners. Spring
Training begins in about two months.
Go M's.
