Cougars Men Win Huskies Don't

The WSU Cougars beat Seattle U 70-58.
The Cougars best the Redhawks outscoring
by six points in each half.

The score was Cougars ahead by two points
around eleven minutes remaining of the
game when they took control. The Redhawks
had a good preseason however the WCC
being a tough conference hasn't been kind
to them.

The Cougars had three players scoring
in double figures while the Redhawks
had two.

Rihard Vavers led the Cougars with
24 points being the player of the
game.  He was hot making 8 of 10
in field goals.

Cougars next game will be home as
well playing Portland at home. Though
the Cougs got off to a hard start we
hope more success the rest of the way

The Washington Huskies lost to Illinois
on the road. Illinois is a pretty good
time. The Huskies will need to win
most of their games at home while
stealing some on the road which this
one wasn't one of them.

The Illini beat the Huskies  75-66.
The Huskies did better in the second
half where they were outscored by
only two points.

The Huskies shot 44.8 percent from
the field which was better than the
Illini. The difference they made more
3 pointers than the Huskies.

Impressive the Huskies shot 100
percent from the foul line. The
Illini though made five more free
throws.

Hannes Steinbach led the Huskies
with 15 points and 12 points. He
is the leader on the Huskies for
both. Wesley Yates back from
the injury list for two  games
had 13 points while Zoom Diallo
had 12.

The Huskies play Northwestern
on the road on Saturday. They have
a conference record of 2-8 so this
will be a good chance for the Huskies
to win. Go Dawgs!
