Mariners Not Far Off From Spring Training

As we know time goes by fast and spring
training begins in five or six weeks.
The Mariners signed Josh Naylor short
after the world series was over.

The next guy up was trading catcher
Harry Ford to the Washington Nationals
for lefty reliever Jose Ferrer. The Mariners
made another move to the major league
roster by signing free agent outfielder/
first baseman Rob Refsnider to the roster.

Most of the Mariners move have been
for signing minor Leaguers who will be
invited to camp or guys picked up off
waivers. Wednesday the Mariners signed
veteran third baseman to a minor league
contract and invited to spring training.

There is word out the Eugenio Suarez
might sign a free agent contract with
Diamondbacks. The Mariners lost
Jorge Palanco to the New York Mets
in December.

This means the Mariners may have
to go after someone in a trade. There
have been tumors who that maybe.
Katel Marte and Brennan Donovan
have been the two main names.
Knowing Jerry Dipoto will the Mariners
get someone we would not expect
that would be better than either one
of them or be equal. We might see
soon.

Cole Young right now be the second
baseman and Ben Williamson at third.
Whoever they pick up play either spot
or both. Will the Mariners trade any
major leaguers or just prospects.
We do know thesriners need to improve
at utility player as well. Is Colt Emerson
start in the majors as well. Stay tuned
to see. The answers may not be far off.
Go Mariners!
