Mariners Lose Logan Evans For 2026

On Friday the .sriners announced that
pitcher Logan Evans had surgery on his
right arm and he will miss the whole
2026 season.

Last year Evans spent most of the year
triple A Tacoma however was called up
when Logan Gilbert went on the injured
list early on in the 2025 season.

Emerson Hancock started last season
in the rotation with George Kirby on
the injured list. He and Evans were the
6th and 7th starters.  Bryce Miller
missed some time as well. This year
Evans was expected to be the 6th
starter as Hancock was moved to the
bullpen. He is expected to be in the
bullpen to start this year.  I would like to see him be the long reliever to start 2026.
With Evans out Hancock could be the
6th starter once again although the
Mariners acquired a couple pitchers
who have some major league experience.
They will have Casey Lawrence again
at Tacoma if they need a starter for a
couple turns in the rotation.

We just hope the Mariners rotation
will stay healthy most of the year.
The rotation should be where each
starter goes at least six innings each
time out most of the time.  Like to
see Castillo and Kirby especially be
better this year year. Gilbert should
be back where he was and the same
goes with Bryce Miller.

The pitchers and catchers report on
February 12 for spring training. There
will be Munoz and Speier pitching
in the World Baseball Classic as well
as Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez and
Josh Naylor so we will be seeing
more of youngsters during spring
training games.  Go Mariners.
