. Mariners Blown Out Monday Night

The Minnesota Twins had lost nine out
of ten games heading into this game.
Luis Castillo has been struggling in
recent outings so the Twins were
looking to turn it around for at least
one game. The weather was rain
going into it as well plus the Twins
were starting a lefty. The Mariners
are now 1-5 against them. The
Mariners need to make some changes
when facing lefties as well as what
they do with Luis Castillo who has
a career losing record on the road
although has a 47-40 at home.

The Mariners expect to have Bryce
Miller back soon as he is on rehab
assignment pitching three times.
Emerson Hancock has pitched
well. They would like to keep him
start pitching however where will
Bryce Miller fit in.  I don't see
sending either Hancock down.
I would like to see him in the
bullpen if he s me doesn't start for
the Mariners for now.  This game
was another where the end of the
bullpen didn't work.

Final Twins 11 Mariners  4

Luis Castillo went five innings
giving up 7 runs. The Mariners
didn't want to over use the
bullpen. Cole Wilcox got four
outs in relief of Castillo. He
gave up one run. Alex Hoppe
finished the game for the
Mariners however gave up
three runs. This was first
outing after the M's dfa
Casey Leguimina then trade
him to Tampa Bay.

We are not sure what the M's
will do but Hancock needs
to be on the team in some
way. By one outing we can't
judge what Hoppe may do.
Cole Wilcox may not be the
answer in the bullpen either
in the long run. The Mariners
do need another high leverage
reliever though.

Cal Raleigh had another home
run though didn't make a
difference  in this one. He has
now his 160th career home run
and is tied at number 7 with
Alvin Davis on the Mariners
all time list. We should see
him continue to go up. Where
he ends we will see.

Tuesday Logan Gilbert will
start followed by George Kirby.
The Mariners will be this coming
weekend. They will be honoring
the Big Unit Saturday by retiring
Randy Johnson number 51.
Last year it was Ichiro number 51.
Go Mariners!
