will be playing their annual spring game
as practice come to an end. I am sure
they will see who they may have to acquire
to strengthen the team with depth at least.
Desmond Williams Jr. returns for his third
season and second as the the starter
although there was some controversy
during the off-season with the transfer portal. He entered the transfer portal after he said he would return. Denzel Boston his top receiver
decided to enter the NFL where he was picked
by the Cleveland Browns in the second round.
Now we will see who will be the top receiver
this season however Desmond will likely
have to count on possibly five. Desmen Roebuck could be the leader as he plays in
the slot. With Desmond speed and getting
out of the pocket he can be a dangerous
receiver to stop. Last year as a freshman
Roebuck had 42 catches for 560 yards and
seven touchdowns. The Huskies hope to
see those numbers go up.
On the outside transfer Christian Moss
and Rashid Williams should be the top
starting outside receivers. Moss has
been hurt so likely won't be in this spring game.Chris Lawson another freshman
last year who caught ten passes will see some action in the spring game.
Decker DeGraaf returns to be the starting
tight end. The third year as a junior. Last
year Decker had 32 catches for 360 yards
and two touchdowns. Being an experience
we should see even more catches from him.
The offensive line had several players
transfer however they are expected to
be a good unit. Center Landen Hatchett
has had some injuries though at spring
practice they have tried a few others
there to including his brother Geirean
who transferred back after a year at
Oklahoma. At this point he is slated to
start at right guard. Touted incoming
freshman five star left tackle will be
Kodi Greene. Next to him at left guard
will be sophomore John Mills. At right
tackle be Drew Azzopardi. The backups
will get some good playing time too.
Jordan Washington might be the starting
running back though slowed by injury.
If not him Jayden Limar a local kid who
transfered from Oregon. Seeing some
action will be incoming freshman Brian
Bonner Jr.
The defense will have some changes as
well as new guys. We will let you know
how the spring game goes. Go Dawgs!
