Tampa Bay Rays play the Brewers in
in Milwaukee.
In Seattle the Mariners will be looking at
the players are on both teams. The
starting first baseman for the Brewers
Jake Bauer played for the Mariners in
72 games in 2022 after starting the year
in Cleveland. He batted only .220 with
two home runs with the Mariners. He
didn't do that well with the Guardians.
Bauer is in his third season with the
Brewers. His stats weren't much better
than his time in Seattle until this year.
He finally became a major league hitter.
He batted .266 with 26 home runs and
86 rbis. A career year for sure. His best
years prior 12 home runs was the highest
in three different seasons. So can't really
blame the Mariners on this one. He is the
only Brewers player to play for the Mariners.
The only other one in their dugout is hitting
coach is Daniel Vogelbach who played for
the Mariners.
The Rays have former Mariners third baseman
on their Word Series team. He played third
base for the Mariners for some of last season
It ended when the Mariners traded for Eugenio Suarez at the trading deadline. He was part of
the three team trade when the Mariners acquired
infielder Brendan Donovan in last off-season
from the Cardinals.
I am sure how the Mariners defense was at
third this season I am sure . Mariners fans
wish the Mariners had traded someone else
besides Williamson. At this point he doesn't
have the power most third baseman do. It
doesn't he won't in a few seasons. The thing
is the Rays have another third baseman who
is pretty good including hitting home runs.
Williamson platooned this season against
lefties mostly at second base. He is in the
lineup in game one for his defense.
Randy Arozarena played for the Rays before
coming to Seattle. He will be rooting for them.
Although a free agent for the Mariners likely
he won't return to the Rays since they won't
have the money to pay him. The odds he won't
be back with the Mariners though he has the
best season of anyone.
Enjoy the World Series everyone.
