Wednesday. The Mariners have
seven new faces plus some prospects as well.
I don't think all seven new faces will
make the opening day roster. Only
three will be on the team for sure
unless a trade happens or injury.
The three are second baseman Kolten
Wong, right fielder Teoscar Hernandez and outfielder -dh AJ Pollock.
Cooper Hummel the Mariners acquired in the trade for Kyle Lewis.
He makes the team he will be the
4th outfielder and third catcher. In
this case Taylor Trammell or Jarred
Kelenic will be in Tacoma or traded.
Kelenic will have to underperform
since the Mariners expect him to be
in left field against righties.
Tommy LA Stella the Mariners signed
as a free agent after being released
by the San Francisco Giants. If he plays well in camp he will be backup
infielder and dh. Most likely won't be
sent to Tacoma if he isn't.
Right-hander pitcher Trevor Gotta
the Mariners signed as a free agent.
The Mariners don't have a lot of spots
available in the bullpen so he maybe
a long shot.
Finally right-hander Justin Tops they
picked up in a trade with Milwaukee.
Again it won't be easy to make the
bullpen and could be traded elsewhere.
The Mariners have several prospects in camp. Catcher Harry Ford number
one prospect will be there. Likely be
in Everett for those north can see
during the season. Pitcher Emerson Hancock who might be the 5th starter
or be so by May.
Let you know if you are in Arizona
you can go to spring training begins
on February 16 and see the players
on the fields or around the facilities.
