to training camp next Monday. Though
some players will be on the field they
mostly be taking their physicals.
I am amazed how negative some
fans and media are about the Mariners
since they made the playoffs last year.
Ok they didn't sign a big name shortstop
so what. The amount of years these guys
were asking I don't blame them.
Hernandez should be an upgrade from
Haniger because of being healthy or at
least we hope so.
The pitching should be better this year
with a full season of Luis Castillo and George
Kirby. Logan Gilbert is the same or better.
Robbie Ray should be better since he had
an off year last season and he doesn't have
to worry about being the ace. The 5th starter
whether Marco, Flexen or someone else no
big deal since the Mariners will be better
than most other teams 5th starter. The
importance is the other four starters are
healthy all season.
It will be nice starting next week to write
stories about the players. How they are
doing in camp and expectations. See
whether there is a dark horse who makes
the team. The Mariners don't have many
openings but one or two could do it.
I hope a fantastic season ahead building
on last year. We hope Jarred Kelenic breaks
lose and not him Taylor Trammell. Having
a solid left fielder would be nice. Go M's.
