the Seattle Mariners since spring
training began on Thursday. Exhibition
games will start next Friday with the
Mariners taking on the San Diego in
Peoria Arizona.
The Washington Huskies upset the
Oregon Ducks in men's basketball
72-71 in overtime. It ended a four
game losing streak. The Huskies
take on Oregon State on Saturday.
The Beavers are not having a good
season either and the Huskies should
be favored to win.
The Huskies were led by freshman
guard Keyon Menifield had 27 points.
Keion Brooks Jr had 14 points.The
Huskies primarily went with a seven
man rotation though center/forward
Jackson Grant played eight minutes.
Former Washington defensive coordinator
and head coach Jimmy Lake was hired
by the Los Angeles Rams this week. He
will be an assistant on the defensive side
but his role wasn't named.
Thursday night the Washington State
Cougars beat Oregon State 80-62. The
Cougars led by 14 at halftime. Mouhamed
Gueye led the Cougars with 21 points.
A forward it was interesting Gueye had
no rebounds in the game. Four of the
Cougars five starters scored in double figures.
Also, they all played 30 minutes or more.
Cougars take on Oregon on Sunday.
