Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Win Opener

On Monday  night  the Washington Huskies
men's team beat Bellarmine University from
Louisville  Kentucky.

This game wasn't  expected to be close
with the Huskies  winning  91-57. The
Huskies  got off to slow start like they
have been accustomed to  since Hopkins
has been coach.

The Huskies  do have eight new players
and two expected starters didn't  play
or played little.  The Huskies  take on
Northern  Kentucky  Thursday night
so both mayplay since it will be tougher
competition.

Sophomore  Koren Johnson  led the
Huskies  with 25 points. Whether he
will start a lot of games or not showed
so far he should play some good minutes.
Keion Brooks Jr  expected to  be  the
Huskies  leading  scorer  once again had
22 points. If he can average around there
it will. He was named to Pac-12 preseason
first team.

The  Huskies  at least  in one game improved
shooting behind the 3-point line  going 10 of
20. Keion looked very impressive behind the
line. He worked  on it during  the off-season.
For him to play in the NBA  he needed the
3-point  shot to be much better.

Next time up and throughout  the season
we will let you you know how different players
will do. Most of the Huskies games early  in
non-league will mostly be at home. They have
three games in Las Vegas.

We will let you know to how the Cougars  and
Gonzaga do as well.  The Cougars  have a big
turnover on their roster like the Huskies.
