Gonzaga Loses to Portland On the Road

Wednesday night wasn't good for the
big three in Washington men's basketball
teams with all of them.

Gonzaga who had won at Portland
over the Pilots lost them for the first
time since 2014. This was the Zags
first loss in the West Coast Conference
this season and the first one since
losing to highly rank Michigan in
December.

The Pilots beat the Zags 87-80.  Graham
Ike the team's leader scorer back after
missing several games with injury was
his second game returned led the Zags
with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Unfortunately  he didn't get a lot of help
Wefrom other four starters in scoring.
They did have help from the bench where
Mario Saint-Supery had 12 points and
Dave Fogle had 10 ss the only ones in
double figures. Though they don't start
they do play valuable minutes..

One major reason the Pilots won they
shot 59.3 percent from the field making
more on less shots. They made 14 more
points than the Zags inside.

This loss may make it hard for the Zags
to be a number one seed in March
Madness we will see.

The Zags play at Oregon State on
Saturday and they will have get back
on winning ways. The Beavers beat
the Cougars on Wednesday at home
so they may be high sky to go
against the Zags.
