Kade Anderson Makes Professional Debut

Kade Anderson made his debut
Saturday afternoon against the
San Diego Padres. The first
round pick of the Mariners in
2025 showed what he was
capable of by striking out the
side in the first inning.

In the second inning he did give
up two hits and  before being lifted.
Houston Roth who the Mariners
signed to a minor league contract
during the off-season came in
for Anderson. He was able to get
two outs but had four hits. Two
runs scored went to Anderson
while three went to him. He walked
a batter.  Peyton Alford came in
and got the final out.

Emerson Hancock came in and
went two and two-thirds innings
get all right batters be faced out
including striking out four. Have
to say Emerson looks like he is
ready to go.  News came out that
Bryce Miller won't make his next
start as a precaution. Emerson
looks like he will be the sixth
starter when needed.  He should
be in the bullpen before then.

Final was Padres 7 Mariners 1

The Mariners plsying in the World
Baseball Classic will be heading
out on Sunday. Be ready for it Cal
Raleigh caught all nine innings
Saturday. Go M's.

On Sunday the Mariners will play
the Texas Rangers in Peoria.
Monday will be their first day off
of two during training camp.

In men's basketball the Washington
Huskies Saturday lost to Wisconsin
at home 90-73. The Badgers are
the sixth best team in the tough
Big Ten. They are 20-9 overall
while the Huskies are 14-15.

Wisconsin scored 15 points in
the first half before the Huskies
held their own in the second half
scoring two more points than the
 Badgers.

The difference in the game was
the Badgers made 13 more points
behind the 3 point line. Both shot
about the same in the field. I
would say the Huskies failed in
that manner.   Hopefully the defense
will get better against teams that
shoot a lot from 3 point line.

The Huskies will be at home on
Wednesday against the USC Trojans
then the regular season ends next
Saturday in Eugene against the
Oregon Ducks. We hope to see
success against them as the Big
Ten Tournament begins after that.

Hannes Steinbach had 22 points
making 8 of 11 in field goals while
Zoom Diallo had 21 making 9 of 15.
They were the only Huskies to score
in double figures. Go Dawgs
