George Kirby Looks Good In Mariners Loss

The Seattle Mariners lost to the
Milwaukee Brewers Sunday afternoon
6-3.

The Mariners scored first on a Leo
Rivas two run homer in the second
inning. Rivas at this point looks
like to be their utility player.  He
likely play second and shortstop
most of the time. Shortstop would
depend on whether Colt Emerson
is on the opening day roster or not.
Even if Colt starts the season in
the minors he will be on the Mariners
at some point in the season.

George Kirby started and pitched three
plus innings giving up two hits including
a double in the fourth to the first hitter.
Troy Taylor who is struggling came in
to replace Kirby. He got an out then
gave up a single that drove in a runner
that was recorded as a run to Kirby.
Troy then gave up a three run home run
before being lifted. He was given the
loss in the game.

Josh Simpson who the Mariners
acquired from the Miami Marlins
during the off-season gave up two
runs on two hits and two walks.

Brennan Davis hit a solo home run
for the Mariners in the sixth inning
to end all the scoring. David is having
a good season. Most likely he will
start the season in triple A however
if the Mariners have any injuries in
the outfield we may see him this
season.

The Mariners take on the Arizona
Diamondbacks Monday afternoon in
Scottsdale with Bryan Woo on the
mound. Go M's
