Yankees Shut Out Mariners

The second of three games against 
the Yankees there wasn't much good
news. Let you know what was positive 
soon.

Final Yankees 5 Mariners 0

Max Fried left handed starter dominated
the Mariners for seven innings giving 
up three of the Marines for hits.  Fried
signed a free agent contract with the
Yankees before the 2025 season. Fried 
pitched eight seasons for the Atlanta 
Braves. Last year for the Yankees 
he was 19-5. He pitched the opener
against the San Francisco Giants and
didn't give up any runs in that game
either. He gave up two hits in 6 and 
1/3 innings. 

The Yankees scored two runs off Logan
Gilbert in the first inning. The Yankees 
got the other three runs in the sixth
inning. Loganefy with one out. It was
the same players who did the job for
the Yankees in both innings.

First baseman Ben Rice hit a double
scoring Cody Bellinger for the Yankees
first run in the game.  Giancarlo Stanton
singled in Rice. In the sixth inning
Rice walked Stanton doubles  Bellinger 
scores. Rice scores to. 

The positive for the Mariners in the 
game were the two relievers. Cole
Wilcox who was recalled from Tacoma 
when Carlos Vargas went on injured
list came in for Logan. He gave up two 
hits however no runs and three strike
outs. Casey Leguimina finished going
one and two-thirds not giving up a 
hit or a walk.

George Kirby will start Wednesday 
afternoon game in the final of the
Yankee series. He pitches like in
his first start the Mariners have a
good shot to win. Go M's.

The Tacoma Rainers lost their 
home opener 6-4 Tuesday evening.
Starter Randy Dobnak have up all
six of the runs in four and two-thirds 
innings. JP Crawford made a rehab 
assignment at shortstop. He didn't 
get a hit though walked once. Colt 
Emerson who played third didn't get
a hit either. We will see how the Rainiers 
do on Wednesday.

Mariners Lose Again
