Seahawks Free Agency and Mariners Lose Monday

The Seahawks ended up losing Ken
Walker III  as expected and it was
to the Kansas City Chiefs who signed
him to a three contract. If it wasn't
for the loss of Zach Charbonnett for
next season to injury it may not have
been as big of a deal.  We do hope
we see Zach before the end of next
season.

The Seahawks lost a couple of defensive
players to including defensive back
Colby Bryant to the Chicago Bears.
He did quite well moving from corner
to safety as  well as staying healthy.
The beginning of his career he had the
problem being healthy.

The Seahawks resigned cornerback
Josh Jobe to a multi year contract
as they did punt returner/wide receiver
Rashid Shaheed.  The contract for
Shaheed was $17 million a year. Expect
the Seahawks use him in multiple ways.
We might see him more out of the
backfield though his punt returner can
make big difference in field position.

The Seahawks likely lose a few more
and add as well. They will likely sign
or trade for a running back. Drafting
a running back possibly in the second
round is a possibility.

In baseball the Mariners lost Monday
afternoon in walkoff fashion to the
Diamondbacks 2-1. Arizona had a
runner on second with two outs when
pop fly went beyond Colt Emerson
at short. The game would have ended
in a tie otherwise.

Bryan Woo started the game for the
Mariners and was happy with his
outing.  Woo went four innings give
up one run in the 4th inning. Brendan Donovan did well getting two hits
in the game. He is looking good
so far. JP Crawford made his first
start at shortstop in the spring. We
hope he will be ready to go when
the season begins. Go M's.
