Washington Huskies Lose Final Regular

The Washington Huskies men's basketball
team game Saturday was a bit crazy at
Oregon and in the end lost 85-79.

The Oregon Ducks got hot right off
the bat making 7 of 7 outside the
three point line. This allowed them
to be ahead by 21 points in the middle
of the first half. They led the Huskies
by 14 at half time.

The Huskies went on a 29-8 run in
the second half to take a three point
lead with 28 seconds left in the game.

The Ducks won primarily because Huskies head coach Danny Sprinkle went crazy when Hannes Steinbach had to foul after a ball
was stolen with three seconds left in the
game. Sprinkle thought that Steinbach
was fouled then was charged with two
technical fouls. The Ducks ended up
making five of six foul shots for the
victory.  It shows how important to
keep your cool.

Steinbach led the Huskies with  26 points
and 13 rebounds. He led the charge when
the Huskies went on their run despite
having three fouls during most of that
time.  Steinbach is tied for second in
double doubles in the nation with 20.
A major reason he is likely going to be a
lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft.

Now both the Huskies and Ducks will
have to see what their pairing will be
in the first round of the Big Ten Tourn-
ament coming up next week. The Huskies
actually have a better record than the
Ducks so they likely will be set higher.

Michigan has the regular season title
followed by Michigan State, Nebraska,
Illinois and Wisconsin making the top
five in the conference. Those five
should make the NCAA tournament.
The Huskies real chance is winning
the Big Ten Tournament. Go Dawgs!
