the Chicago Cubs at home 6-5.
The Cubs got off to a good start
hitting two home runs off Emerson
Hancock to make it 3-0.
Emerson settled down not giving up
another run when he left with two
outs in the sixth inning.
The Mariners tied and took the lead
in the second inning when Cal Raleigh
hit a three run homer. Brendan Donovan
hit a single to drive in the go ahead run.
He is hitting .379 in his last seven games.
He could be a key the rest of the way.
Arozarena drove in a run in the 5th
to make it a two run lead. Unfortunately
the Cubs had two more home runs in
the 8th and 9th to tie.
The Mariners were able to hold the
Cubs in the 10th. Victor Robles bunted
Randy Arozarena moving to third. Julio
wasn't able to get a hit out of the infield.
Leo Rivas though singled up the middle
to win with Arozarena scoring.
Before the game the Mariners activated
Carlos Vargas who had been out all
season after being on the injured list.
He didn't get into Friday's game however
should help the bullpen. We could see
him in Saturday's game.
JP Crawford is going to do a rehab for
the Tacoma Rainiers Saturday and Sunday.
Monday we will see whether he is added
onto the roster.
Saturday Kade Anderson is going to make
his major league debut for the Mariners.
Right now Ryan Woo isn't going on the
injured list so may start in this homestand.
Does this mean the Mariners go back to
a six man rotation or do the piggy back
which they did a little in July. How Woo
along with Bryce Miller and George Kirby
pitching recently the piggy back could
be the way to go.
September 1st the rosters expand so the
Mariners could go to the six man rotation
as well as eight pitchers in the bullpen.
It will work if the starters can go six innings
regularly. Go M's.
News came out Friday that Seahawks
lost wide receiver in the joint workout
with the Titans. It looks like he will be
out for the season. Also wife receive
Troy Horton be out for a while too.
This means two receivers will make
the opening day roster who may not
have otherwise. Go Hawks.
