Friday night against the Houston Astros.
however the Mariners pitching wasn't
there.
It is a bit ironic since the offense has
been the trouble much of the season.
Final Astros 10-7. George Kirby gave
up five runs in four two-thirds innings.
The bullpen did a good job until
Andre Munoz came and he gave up
five runs including a walk off three-run
homer.
News was that the Mariners were sending
down shorstop Colt Emerson to triple A
Friday morning instead he went on the injured
list. Infielder Brock Rodden who played
shortstop. In the 8th inning he had his first
major league hit with a double scoring Weston
Wilson to tie it 5 -5. In the tenth he hit a
sacrifice fly to make it a two run lead. A
good way to start it out.
The struggle most of the season is that
it has been the hitting has been bad
and the pitching good but now when
it counts both are not working together.
We hope Saturday they can both do well.
Go M's.
