go to send Mariners top prospect
down to triple A Tacoma as he was
struggling at the plate. Instead the
Mariners put in the ten day injured
list because of his left wrist.
It has come to light the Colt originally
injured the wrist back during spring
training. Amazing that the could
perform as well as he could until the
last month or so.
Now has come out Colt will likely
need to have surgery on the wrist.
He will be done for the season.
At least this point he should be
ready to go when spring training
starts. He should still be considered
the Mariners starting shortstop.
Right now Brock Rodden who came up
for him on Friday will be the starting
shortstop. There is no news when
JP Crawford will return from the
injured. He has the same injury
as Colt. Besides Rodden at shortstop
Leo Rivas would be his backup when
Rodden would need a day off.
For the time being Brendan Donovan
is the Mariners third baseman. If the
Mariners need to give Donovan a day
off Weston Wilson will be the one
playing. Wilson can play first base
if Naylor needs a day off as well.
Rivas can play third or second base
as well.
Ryan Bliss who is playing for the Rainiers
would be the next guy up if the Mariners
need someone if another shortstop is
injured. He can play second base too.
Taylor Ward hasn't played for the Mariners
for the past four games. He is currently
day to day recoveryfrom injury. We see if
he is in the lineup Tuesday against the
Milwaukee Brewers. Go M's.
