It was quite the pitching matchup however
the Mariners had enough by winning 4-1.
The Phillies scored first in the second inning
driving in a run with a single. Cal Raleigh
responded with a home run to tie it in the
bottom bottom of the inning with a home
run.
In the bottom of the 6th Josh Naylor singled
to score Julio Rodriguez.
Im the 7th with two outs the Phillies brought
in a lefty to face left handed Dominic Canzone
with the bases loaded singled to left center
to score two more key runs in the 7th.
The Mariners fans were all standing at that.
point. George Kirby went seven and two-thirds
innings when he was lifted for lefty Jose
Ferrer who got the last out. At one point
George retired 15 Phillies in a row. Munoz
came in the 9th for his 25 save of the season.
Kirby had struggled for several outing before
Tuesday night. The Mariners will see if they
can sweep the Phillies on Wednesday afternoon.
Bryan Woo will start after getting a few extra
days off after exiting his last game with his
shoulder. The Mariners now are going with
six starters. When September begins they
will be able to add another reliever. Not sure
when Matt Brash will be available but.Cooper
Criswell right now is doing a rehab assignment.
He went on the injured list at the same time.
JP Crawford was activated on Tuesday and
played third base. Leo Rivas was sent to
Triple A. Be interesting when Brendan
Donovan comes off the concussion injured
list. Go M's.
