Mariners Lose Series

The Seattle Mariners lost Sunday
afternoon 5-3 to the Twins. It was
the first series loss in Seattle since
being being by the Cubs back in May.

This game looked like replay recently
except they had nine huts on the day.
The trouble is again they could not
bring runners in when opportunity
arised.

Mitch Garver who was catching while
Cal Raleigh was at dh was hit in the
right wrist in the second. Garver had
to leave the game and Cal had to take
over. One question who would have
been.the third catcher.  There was
speculation had Garver been dh he
likely would have stayed in the game.
The trouble was him able to throw.
Xrays were taken and came up
negative. He should be able to play
though have to see if he can catch.
Dies this mean the Mariners mave
have to add another catcher to the
roster and will that be Zavala.

The Mariners only have Garver and
Raleigh as the only catchers on the
40-man roster as well as the 26-man
so they would have to add Zavala
or anyone else to the 40-man roster.
Zavala so far has only played three
games at Tacoma with a .222 average
so can't go by that. Nine if the other
catchers at Tacoma have very good
marks so unless they acquire somewhere
else Zavala is the best choice.

Mariners number two prospect catcher
Harry Ford is doing OK hitting .254 at
double A Arkansas.  The question
is he be ready to play any amount of
time in the majors right now or this
season. Have to get that idea from
the scouts, Jerry Dipoto and general
manager Justin Hollander for the
answer. Even rqeady would it slow
down his progress.

Luis Castillo who started Sunday
went only five innings giving up
three runs. With Garver out of the
game Luis had to bat in the 4th
inning. He ended up striking out.
After that the Mariners used three
pinch hitters without success.

When Castillo left the Mariners were
behind 3-0. It give me much of an
idea they would. They did score
two runs in the bottom of the fifth
making 3-2 and interesting. Julio
reached on a fielder's choice with
Dylan Moore scoring. Luke Raley
had a single to score Josh Rojas.
The Mariners actually tied the game
in the 7th on a single to right scoring
Raley. This certainly gave Mariners
fans hope however in the top of
the 8th Ryne Stanek who has had his
ups and downs gave up a two-run
and there went the win.

Thus was a gsme the Mariners may
have won or not. Game one the
Mariners were lucky to win.do.they
could have been swept at home too.

Now they have Monday off with the
Baltimore Orioles coming to town
for three. The Oroles are at the top
of the American East slightly ahead
of the Yankees. They are 4-6 in their
last ten games. The Mariners will have
to do better than their last 12 games
to beat them.

The Astros are playing well now
so the Mariners have step up to
keep the lead in the division.
This means either the offense
gets better on its own or they
acquire a bat real soon.
Go team.

Mariners Lose Game Two

The Seattle Mariners lost Saturday night
5-1 to Minnesota Twins in the middle
of the three game series.

The Mariners only run game was on a
home run by Mitch Haniger. Like most
of the lineup he has been struggling
to. Now that he isn't starting regularly
I thought Dylan Moore should have
in right field. A one man's opinion
anyway.

Bryce Miller went five innings giving
up two runs however he threw 92
pitched. Trent Thornton in the sixth
inning gave up three run homer to
outfielder Bruxton to end it pretty
much.

Miller would probably be the pitcher
of the game however no hitter of the
game.

Luis Castillo is slated to start Sunday.
We see if the Mariners can win the series.
This was so important to win not to
start Bryan Woo's replacement..

The Mariners have Monday off. Though not
announced yet most likely in the three
game series Kirby, Gilbert and Miller will
start.  Go Mariner

Washington Huskies Football

The 2024 version will be tough to
match the 2023 team for the Huskies.
In fact it might be a while however
it doesn't mean the Huskies won't
have success.

It will be interesting how close or
different the offense will look. We
do know the wide receivers won't
be as good. Last year they were
the best threesome they ever had.

Though they won't be as good as
last year receivers we hope to see
some good play. Denzel Boston
expected to be number one receiver.
Jeremiah Hunter a transfer from
Cal Golden Bears and Giles Jackson
expected to be the starting three.
The backups will be redshirt freshmen
nd true freshmen. We have to see who
steps out of that group.

Tight end Quentin Moore who had the
touchdown to win the Pac-12 championship game will be the only
experienced one returning.

At running back Jonah Coleman a
transfer from Arizona is expected
to be the starter.  Cameron Davis
who missed last season after
having a good 2022 season we
hope to see him play. He didn't
participate in spring practice.
Daniyel Ngata a transfer from
Arizona Stare last year  listed as
second running back. Last season
he played mostly special teams.
We will see if anyone else steps
forward.

Will Rogers a transfer from Mississippi
State is expected to start at quarterback
in his final year of college football.
We hope he stays healthy as true
freshman Desmond Williams Jr. Is  his backup.

The offensive line is a question mark
as it will be a new set of starters. We
hope they up for the challenge. Next
time we will look st Huskies defense.
Go Dawgs!

Mariners Win In Extra Innings

The Seattle Mariners beat the Twins
at home 3-2 in ten innings.

Pitcher of the game: Logan Gilbert
who went six innings giving up
a two run homer in the sixth. He
deserve more run support. The
bullpen did  a good job not  allowing
a run in four innings.

Hitter of the game is hard to say
since only had five hits. Josh
Rojas hit a double to score Mitch
Haniger in the 5th inning. Had it
been a good throw he would have
been out. Polanco had a  bunt
follow by Raley bunt for sacrifice.
The Mariners were unable to score.
Cal got JP Crawford in though it
was a fielder's choice. The pitcher
for the Twins threw the ball wild.
Even a perfect throw may not have
gotten JP.  Julio was able to hit
the ball where JP was able to go
to third though it was an out.

Bryce Miller starts Saturday. He
has struggled in several of his
last starts. We hope he turns it
around.  Go Mariners

Seahawks Running Back Position

This coming Seahawks season not
only say how the team does in a
a game we will let you know who
is the player of the game is. If
fitting on offense and defense.
Throughout the week we will do
profiles on some of the players
to. This will go for the Huskies
and Cougars as well.

Today going to look at the running
back position. According to head
coach Michael Macdonald the
running back position will be shared
by two. I expect that Kenny Walker 3
will be the starter however Zach
Charbonnet will get plenty of carries
as well. They may alternate series
and play in the same series as well.

I am sure there are fans who favor
Walker a lot. Having them share the
load Walker will stay healthier. The carry
load could be 15 for Walker and 10 or
12 for Charbonnet. This will come down
how the game is going. Both should
receive some catches as well. Most
likely three per game.

Kenny McIntosh a rookie last year out
of Georgia is the third running back.
The Seahawks have  a few vying for
the spot however they will be mentioned
at another time. McIntosh playing time
will be on special teams for the most
part. He will be seen taking kickoffs.
Any rushing attempts will likely happen
late in the game if the score is high
on one side or another or if there is
injuries to 1or 2 which we hope not.

During much of Pete Carroll's reign
the priority for the Seahawks was to
run the ball primarily however it
changed to passing if they got down
quickly by the score or were not gaining
ground. We shouldn't expect this under
Michael Macdonald. The running game
will be a major focus however no matter what.

Having a good running game will make
passing game more effective as well.
The Seahawks have a talented group
of receivers as well as offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb who loves
to mix things up as any Huskies fan
saw. We could see any of the receivers
run the ball too.  The end is expect the
unexpected.

Next time on the Seahawks we will
look at the receivers and after that
we will look at the defense which
will be an interesting group especially
when we will see a different defense.
Go Hawks!

Seahawks Thursday: The Offense

We should see an improvement in
Seahawks defense having head
coach Michael Macdonald running
the show. We get back to it later.

The offense should look better to
with former Washington Huskies
offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb
in charge. Though the running
game is expected to be the primary
part of the offense the talent at
wide receiver and the use at tight
end should be showing to. Also,
the running backs will catch some
passes too.

How well the Seahawks offense goes
comes down to the health of the line.
Last year the Seahawks line was not
good or healthy. Both of the tackles
were out for some time. Right tackle
Abe Lucas out for at least half of the
season.  His health looks better going
into training camp so we hope he is
able to perform well along with left
tackle Charles Cross.

The Seahawks signed former player
George Fant as a free agent. Though
he is expected to be the backup at
right tackle he could be a key  to the
line giving Lucas some time off.

The guards and center will be
important to the offense. I believe
the backups make the offense
better though we hope the health
of the whole stays intact.

We should see an improvement
to the running game which was
30 last season and make the
passing game more effective
to. With Grubb as coordinator
we should see some interesting
looks with DK Metcalf. Huskies
former receiver Rome Odunze
now with the Chicago Bears is
much similar to Metcalf although
DK is more physical. I could see
some similar use for him.

Training camp starts in a month
so we should get ready. We hope
with an improved line not only
will the running game look better
Geno Smith or whoever is at
quarterback will be more free
in the pocket.  Go Hawks!

Mariners Win Final Game Of Road Trip

The road trip was tough with the
Mariners going 3-6 wing one
game per series. The Mariners
knew it would be tough against the
Guardians however the Mariners
and Rays should have been easier.
The Mariners now 19-25 on the
road. The Marlins and Rays have
not been good at home though
Tampa better though. The Mariners
starting rotation would make you
think better than they have been
on the road.

The Mariners won Wednesday
afternoon 5-2. The Mariners
scored more like that regularly
they would have a better record.

George Kirby went six innings
giving up only four hits. He didn't
walk a batter and struck out seven.
The Mariners were leading 5-1
and Kirby had thrown 87 pitches.
You think that Servais could have
left him in the game to start.
The Mariners had to go with
four relievers though I am
sure they expected to go with
three. Munoz had tough luck
in the ninth so Trent Thornton
came in and recorded his first
save.

The Mariners usually don't do
well if Munoz isn't able  to last.

The Mariners were losing 1-0
heading to the seventh inning.
Cal Raleigh hit a three run
homer to allow the Mariners
to relax for a little bit.

In the eighth JP Crawford drove
in Mitch Garver and Dominic
Canzone. The Mariners had
five hits on the day. These
were the guys who got all
the hits.

Mariners will have Thursday
off and start a series at home
against Minnesota. Logan Gilbert
starts Friday and we hope another
great outing. Bryce Miller starts
on Saturday..

Mariners Blown Out

Tuesday evening the Mariners woes
continue on this road trip. They
are now 2-6 on this trip. Over the
season  18-25.

Final was Rays 11 Mariners 3

The game was close until late
innings. Ty France hit a two-run
homer in the 5th to tie 2-2. The
Rays scored 4 in the sixth followed
by three in the seventh and 2 in
the eighth.  Mitch Garver hit a
a home run in the 7th.

Luis Castillo hasn't been sharp
since his win against the Rangers
who by the way lost. He went five
and a third innings. He gave up
two runs whe exiting in the sixth.
Michael Baumann came in and
surrendered two runs including
a homer. Eduardo Bazardo came
in with two outs in the sixth. He
surrendered three runs in the 7th.
His era is almost a run per inning.

Cody Bolton gave up the two
runs in the eighth however neither
was earned.

The Mariners offense still cotinued
to struggle having six hits..We hope
the Mariners can turn around on
Wednesday. It will be a day game
then the Mariners come home.
Thursday will be a day off. We
all could use a break..

Mariners Lose A Close One

The Seattle Mariners lost Monday
evening 4-3 in Tampa Bay against
the Rays in the opening of their
series. So far the Mariners are
2-5 on this road trip and the Astros
and Rangers have gained some
ground.

Someone on one of the groups I
am in regards to the Mariners
having a great record leading
after seven innings. It is good
news however having this record
on this road trip and on the road
all season says to me that stats
only go so far.

Mariners manager Scott Servais
tries to put a good spin on it
by saying we are built for one
run games. That may say sound
good especially if you have a
good record in one run games.
Wouldn't it be better if the Mariners
are built for two run games.

Monday's night game the Mariners
were leading 3-2 going into the bottom
8th inning. They had to bring in Andre
Munoz. He ended up walking former
Mariner Jose Caballero to load the
bases. As we know anything can happen.

Leadoff hitter Diaz hit a ball in the
middle between first and second
base. The ball looked like a bad
hop. On the negative side we could
say Ty France should have field the
hit. This may be true however two
runs were scored and the Mariners
were unable to score in the 9th.

Although the Mariners may have a
very good record from the seventh
inning on this was another game
that was taken from them. It comes
down to the weakness on the team
and that is timely hitting or in this
game they only had three hits. Cal
Raleigh had a solo home run and
Mitch Garver had a two-run variety.
They accounted for two of the hits.
Added to that they were on base
with seven walks.

Bad news happened in the 4th inning
where Bryan Woo had to leave the
game with a hamstring. This means
likely he will have to go on the injured
list. More news will come out on
Tuesday. Woo was pitching fantastic
when it happened.

Jorge Polanco was activated and
played in the game and batted second.
Tyler Locklear who hadn't played in
the Miami was sent down to Tacoma.

Ryan Bliss who may have played
the best in Miami is still on the
team. We hope he is able to play
some in this series.

I am looking forward to the Mariners
acquiring a player soon and not have
to wait for the trading deadline.
Go team!

Mariners Lose Another Series

It has been rough on the road this
season. The Mariners have done
well at home.

Losing two out of three against
the Guardians wasn't a big
surprise however now lost
two against Miami. We hope
they turnaround in Tampa Bay.

The Astros and Rangers swept
their series this weekend. The
biggest surprise was the Astros
sweeping the Baltimore Orioles.
The Mariners are now six up
on the Astros and Rangers half
behind them.

Bryce Miller went only four
innings giving up all six  runs
while Mariners scored four.
Not sure what is wrong but
Miller has had a bad May and
June after getting off to a good
start in April. I wonder he has
had arm issues or the hitters
have figured him out. Not a
good sign either way.

The Mariners didn't start Tyler
Locklear once again. Sounds
like he will be sent down soon.
On the other hand Ty France
went 0 for 4. When it comes
to putting down the starting
lineup I don't get it.

The Mariners had four runs on
seven hits. Luke Raley was the
one who did the best by having
three hits including a home run.

Julio who didn't play Saturday
had no.hits Sunday which doesn't
make sense.

Bryan Woo is scheduled to start
Monday at Tampa Bay. We hope
for a bounce back from him.

We hope to see a win in the column
Monday. Go mariners.

Gilbert Shuts Out Marlins

Logan Gilbert continues to pitch at
a  high level. Looks like he should
be on the all-star team.

Logan went eight innings of shut out
ball giving up four hits.

The Mariners on the other hand scored
nine runs. A good day at the park.

I am trying to see if I can mix things up
on this blog.

Dominic Canzone who has been
struggling most of the season
showed what he is capable of
having four hits. Included was a
home run and two RBIs.

For the second game in a row
Ryan Bliss had three hits. He
might have figured things out.
Facing another lefty Sunday
Bliss should be in the lineup
again.

The question is what happens
when Polanco is back after
rehab assignment.

Though he isn't hitting on fire
are we going to see more of
Locklear. He seems to be the
guy going down on the return
Polanco. The thing though
Ty France is only hitting .125
in the month of June though
he missed some time.  In
his five games since returning
on June 18 he has one hit and
that happened Saturday.

Let's see Mariners take care on
Sunday. Go team.

Mariners Lose In 10th

The Mariners continue struggles on
the road even against bad teams.
Also not sure against poor pitchers
as well.

Final  Marlins 3 Mariners 2

The highlight was a triple by Ryan
Bliss scoring the second run of
the game. Bliss had his best night
of his short career having three
hits. Late in the game facing a
righty they pinch hit Canzone for
him.

The Mariners had runners on first
and third with no outs. We unable
to score a run. Couldn't bring
home a run in the 10th either.
The Marlins scored on the very
first pitch in the bottom of the 10th
All we can hope for is the Mariners
recover beginning Saturday.

George Kirby went seven innings.
He gave up two solo home runs
back to back in the sixth inning.
Stanek and Munoz pitch the
eight and ninth. Austin Voth
pitched the 10th giving up.the
one run. Again a lack of offense
again.

Mariners Series Against The Marlins

Beginning Friday evening the Mariners
have a series in Miami against the
Marlins.

The Marlins are 25-49 in the National
league east. They have won two in
a row which could be good or bad
depending how you look at it.

The Marlins beat the St.Louis Cardinals
two out of three at home. All three games
were won by one run. The Mariners are
good in one run games. They are 3-7
in their last ten games so it is not like
they are playing better.

George Kirby will start on Friday. In
his last outing against the Texas
Rangers Kirby went six innings give
up three hits and only one run however
it wasn't earned. He comes anywhere
close to that we should see a victory.
The Mariners have been good in
opening games of series which allows
them to be in first place.

Trevor Rogers will be on the mound
for the Marlins. He has a 5.09 era and a record of 1-8. His last outing Rogers
was against the Washington Nationals.
He went seven innings giving up six hits and two runs. Unfortunately for Rogers the Marlins were shutout.

The Mariners offense has had trouble
with starting pitchers with high era's.
The game before the Nationals was at
home against the Guardians. As we
just witnessed the Guardians are a
good hitting ball club. Rogers gave
up two hits in five innings and one
run. The trouble was he walked four
batter as well as striking out five.

The question is can he pitch three
good games in a row. For the Mariners
sake we hope not. The Mariners have
recently had starters not go five
innings so a  repeat would be nice.

I do give the Mariners the edge to win
since they have won several series
openers. The Mariners have won every
series opening gsme except against
the Kansas City Royals. Go M's.

Mariners Take It On The Chin Again

The Mariners lost game three to
Cleveland 6-3. Glad they took the
opener otherwise a sweep won't
look good. Now they go Miami
who isn't a good team followed
by Tampa Bay who isn't either.

The Mariners haven't been good
on the road. So we have to see.
At least Kirby, Gilbert and Miller
face the Marlins. The Mariners
should win two games at least.
The key is to win Friday.

Luis Castillo didn't pitch well
going five innings and giving
up five runs. With that he gave
up two home runs. Castillo
gave up a solo home run in
the second and two-run variety
in.the 5th inning. Three of the
runs including the homer was
in the fifth inning. Trent Thornton
gave up a solo home run in the
eighth inning.

The Mariners were leading 3-2
heading into the fifth.  Dylan
Moore hit a two-run homer in
the first inning with Crawford on
base. Ryan Bliss hit a double
scoring Ty France who had walked
and there were two outs. Victor
Robles and Bliss were on second
and third however there were two
outs so Crawford wasn't able to
bring them home.

Besides Castillo and Thornton there
was Tayler Saucedo and Ryne Stanek
who.pitched.Neither Saucedo or Stanek
gave up a hit but did walk a batter.
Saucedo had no strike outs but Stanek
had two.

Depending how Friday's game
goes will determine we see Munoz
or not. Again important to win
open game of a series and ending
a two game losing streak. Go M's

Ty and Tyler

The Seattle Mariners brought up
#8 prospect Tylear Locklear when
Ty France went on the injured list.

Now Ty is back and Locklear is
still on the roster for the time
being. I know fans have opinions
how much both should be playing
and if so how much.

Ty has been the starter at first
base for some time since they
moved him to first base. He has
shown that he plays good defense
at first.

Ty hasn't had the season we or hr
was hoping for. His hits have come
in bunches. June he wasn't hitting
well before being injured in the
foot by being hit at the plate.

Tyler is showing that he has good
power at the plate he plays pretty
good first base as well. His power
is more than then Ty. Something
he has shown is hitting the other
way. I am sure he has been taught
that by controlling the zone. Tyler
isn't a speed burner however is
faster than Ty. When Tyler isn't
starting I could see him come
in pinch running for Ty late in
the game. He isn't Ryan Bliss on
the base plaths but still faster
then Ty. We know the defense
won't suffer either.

Being in first place the Mariners
will have Ty starting most of the
time. It would be good to have
Tyler starting at least three times
a week or why keep him on the
roster. This means he dh or play
third base as well as first.

Now that Mitch Garver is the
second catcher we will see him
catching at least once a week.
Against a lefty the Mariners
should start Ty at dh with Tyler
at first with Garver catching.
Mitch Hanger can be in right
field. This depends how many
starting lefties they face in the
week. This lineup could change
if they face more than once.
We could see Locklear play
third as well.

Locklear looks like the future
first baseman if he isn't traded.
I am sure other teams who are
looking to trade with the Mariners
are keeping an eye on him. The
question though will Ty be the
starting first baseman in 2025.

This is a lot to think about
and we will see what comes
the next several weeks.

Mariners Shutout In Cleveland

Bryan Woo was going to have a bad
game eventually so Wednesday it
happened.

Final Cleveland 8 Seattle 0

I guess if Woo was going to be hit
on a day when the Mariners couldn't
score was a good idea. Woo went
four innings. Didn't want him overused.
Woo gave  up three runs.

Mike Baumann came in the fifth.
He to gave up three runs in one
inning. Cody Bolton came in the
sixth and gave up a run. Eduardo
Bazardo pitched two innings
giving up a solo home run. The
three relievers won't pitch tomorrow
since throwing over 20 pitches.

The Mariners only had three hits
on the night. Rojas and Canzone
each had a double. Julio had a
single.

Now the Mariners with Castillo
on the mound look to take the
series.on Thursday. Go team.

Mariners Win Again

The Mariners continue winning opening
games to series helping them win
series to.  The Astros and Rangers
both lost so now have  a ten game
lead in the division.

This is a lead where the Astros and Rangers will have to get hot and the
Mariners not. The Mariners are  44-31
on the season with 87 games remaining.
Say the  Mariners went 44-43 in those games the Astros and Rangers who are both 33-40  would have to go 55-34 in
their 89 games. This will be high order
for both.

The Mariners starting pitching continues
as strong and the Mariners offense is improving difficult for the Astros and Rangers to win the division. The Mariners and Rangers have seven games remaining on the season against each other. The Rangers would have to almost sweep
the Mariners. The same goes for the
Astros. What are the odds.

Final Mariners 8 Guardians 5

The Mariners scored four runs in the
third and added a run in the next
four innings. This was a good sign
as the Mariners haven't done well
adding on runs over a game. Most
times they have scored big in an
inning or two.

JP Crawford helped out hitting
a two-run homer in the third
inning. Luke Raley and Dylan Moore
each had solo home runs. Moore
who hss been struggling at the
plate in June had two hits and scored
three times.

Bryan Woo who missed his last
start will start Tuesday. Has been
pitching very well this season
after starting  on the injured list.

We wish him the best on Tuesday and
going forward. Go.M's.

The Seahawks Defense

We know the Seahawks defense will
look different than in the past with
new head coach and former defense
coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens
Mike Macdonald.

The positions may look the same as
do with most in the NFL however the
way is played out is the question or
answer.

The depth chat may have the name
where the defensive player position
is supposed to be however we should
expect the players to move around.

An example is Dremont Jones. He is
listed as the right defensive end
however during otas and minicamps
he was playing some at edge rusher/
outside linebacker.

The Seahawks number one draft pick
this year Bryon Murphy II is listed
behind Jones as right defensive end
however we should see a lot of him
whether there or somewhere else
on the line.

Leonard Williams who the Seahawks
acquired last season is listed at left
defensive end. Jarran Reed is the
starting nose tackle at this time
however we could see Williams moved
inside. The Seahawks were one of
the worst teams against the run so
whatever the Seahawks have to do
improve it they will do so.

Last year's number one pick Devon
Witherspoon is listed as the nickel
back however he will be doing a lot
of free lance roaming wherever he
is needed. Last year's cornerbacks
Riq Woolen and Michael Jackson
each had poor seasons. If they don't
play much better Witherspoon's
assistance will be important as well
the safeties. The pass rush will be
important to help out as well.

The inside linebackers will need
improvement too. We have two
new starters as Bobby Wagner
and Jordyn Brooks signed as
free agents else where.Both
starters have had to work through
injuries this offseason. During
the offseason training Jon Rattigan
better known for his special teams
worked played with the first unit
during these training sessions.
Though not expecting to start
working out with the first unit
will help his value.

The Seahawks will have this year's
fourth round pick Tyrice Knight in
the mix at inside linebacker. Though
there is two inside linebacker spots
sometimes they will go with only
one on passing downs.

Anyway the first preseason game
will give us some insight what the
defense will look like though more
so by the opening game of the
season. We should be excited to
see how the new defense looks
and improvement over the season.
Go Hawks!

The Seahawks New Offense

This coming season it will be
interesting to see the new look
of the Seattle Seahawks offense.

It is possible we may see some of
the offense that was under Pete
Carroll and the different offensive
coordinators over the years.

The Seahawks want to be physical
in the running game and be a major
part of the offense. The passing
will still be shown. Under the coaching
of Ryan Grubb I expect to see surprises
like he had at University of Washington.

Head coach Michael Macdonald said
during the ota's and minicamps that
DK Metcalf will be shown a lot more
in the passing game.  I expect under
the play calling of Ryan Grubb we will
see Metcalf get the ball a lot like Rome
Odunze did at Washington. Not only
will he be thrown long passes I could
see Metcalf catching short passes
and running the ball after the catch
since he is s physical player. Those
short passes will be to the running
backs  too.

I expect the Seahawks will have at
least once or twice have reverses
in the game as well. Tyler Lockett
has been used this way however
I could see Metcalf doing so too.
We will still see long passes in
the Seahawks games in the same
manner as before however could be
used as a surprise. How well this
happens comes down is the offensive
line. Last year they had injuries and
why the running game wasn't good.

We should see more of the tight ends
in the passing game especially with
Noah Fant. We will see a lot of two
tight ends for blocking purposes to.
One could lineup as a fullback as well.
We could see two running backs in
the game too. We should be open to
anything.

On defense it will be interesting to
see as well. How much of the defense
that Macdonald used at Baltimore will
come down to the personal. Next time
on the Seahawks we will look at the
Seahawks defense. Go team.

Logan Gilbert Dominates For Sweep

Having the Mariners using Emerson Hancock in the final game against the
White Sox turned out to be genius
although they lost the game.

Logan Gilbert had probably his best
start of the season going eight innings
giving up two hits and the Mariners
shutting out the Rangers 5-0. Logan
didn't give up a walk and struck out
nine.

The Mariners didn't score until the
4th inning when they had back to
back doubles scoring Mitch Haniger
from second. The 5th inning Josh
Rojas scored from second base
on a wild pitch making it 2-0. Scoring
runs with two outs has been rare
this season however happened both
innings. The Mariners had no runners
on base with two outs when Haniger
double then Luke Raley followed with
his in the 4th.

The seventh inning was key with
Tyler Locklear hitting a solo home
run.  In  the 8th the Mariners added
two more runs.  Dominic Canzone
hit a ball to left field scoring Ryan Bliss who had pinched run for Haniger. Raley
went to third.  Hr scored on another
wild pitch.

Before the two runs in the 8th Andre
Munoz was warming up for the 9th.
Austin Voth who ended up going into
the game pitched the ninth without
giving up a hit or  a walk. Voth has
done so well in his last seven outings
he has given one run on two hits,
walked one and struck out four.
It is hard to do much better than
this.

The Mariners have Monday off and
start a three game series in Cleveland.
Bryce Miller will start Tuesday followed
by Bryan Woo on Wednesday and Luis Castillo on.Thursday. The Guardians
are having a good season so this
to should be a good series. Go M's!

Mariners Take Game 2

George Kirby pitched well going six
innings without giving up an earned
and only three hits. The Mariners
scored a run in the first inning. Julio
hit a two-run homer run in the third
inning.  Julio is hitting .276 in his
last seven with two home runs.
Showing he is heating up.

Josh Rojas was the other big hitter
having two hits including a home run
in the 7th inning. He has been struggling
as of late however he can hit like is
season average of .263 or higher will
help the Mariners out.

Final Mariners 7 Rangers 5

The Mariners were leading comfortably
heading into the 9th inning. The Rangers
scored four runs off reliever Eduardo Bazardo in the ninth. Ryne Stanek had
to come in to get the final off.  He did
give up a hit to Marcus Semien two
bring in the final two runs. Semien had
three hits on the night driving in three
of the five runs.

The Mariners were able to blanket
Corey Seager for the second game.
He is 0 for 9 in the series so far.

Logan Gilbert goes Sunday afternoon.
Father's day the Mariners have a sold
out crowd. We hope the crowd will
help the Mariners sweep the series.
Go Mariners.

Mariners Beat Rangers

Friday evening the Seattle Mariners
beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 in the
opening game of the series. The
Mariners are now 41-31 ten games
above five hundred. Much of their
record has to do with winning the
first game of a series.

The scoring took place early on
in the game. Often starting pitchers
struggle early on in the game and
this happened to both pitchers.

Nathaniel Lowe hit a double that
scored Marcus Semien who led
off with a single. Wyatt Langford
up next singles to Julio Rodriguez
scoring Lowe. I am sure at the time
no one figured that would be the
only runs the Rsngers would score
on the night.

In the bottom of the first the Mariners
scored twice to even the score. Julio
Rodriquez who gotten on base by a
walk was brought home on a home run
by Mitch Garver to tie at 2-2.

In the third inning the Mariners scored
the final run of the game. Julio grounded
out forcing Mitch Haniger at second
and JP Crawford scored.  That was
the ball game in simple terms.

The Rangers had five hits while the
Mariners had eight on the evening.
Julio didn't have a hit however his
groundout allowed the Mariners.
Mitch Haniger had two hits including
tgevone setup the winning run. Victor
Robles the Mariners recently acquired
from the Nationals had two as well
although the Mariners were unable
to score on them.

Luis Castillo went six innings giving
up the two runs and four hits total.
He only walked one while striking
out seven.  Mike Baumann came
in the seventh striking out one.
Baumann who has done well in
this role threw on seven pitches
so we could see him again on
Saturday or certainly on Sunday.

Andre Munoz was available pitching
the eighth inning. Munoz walked
one while striking out three. He
threw 19 pitches so have to see
how he feels the rest of series.
Ryne Stanek pitched the 9th record
his sixth save of the season. A
good sign as he threw eleven pitches
with ten strikes. Depending the
opposing teams batting order Stanek
is taking well closing games. Most
likely we will see Munoz pitching
to the middle of the order. A role that
fits him well. Besides closing Munoz
hss been comfortable coming in the
eighth inning. A role he did when
Paul Sewald was the closer.

George Kirby starts for Mariners
starts late afternoon as the game
is on Fox TV.  Nathan Eovaldi starts
for the Rangers. We could see another
pitching match once again. The
Mariners hope that Kirby will go
at least six innings. With his control
seven innings could happen too.
In 14 starts Kirby has only seven
walks while striking out 78 batters
in just over 80 innings. In his last
outing at Kansas City Kirby gave up
only five hits and didn't walk a batter.

Though the news isn't official Bryan
Woo is expected to start on Tuesday
at Cleveland. Most likely we will see
Bryce Miller on Wednesday. Logan
Gilbert starts on Sunday. We will
see if any moves are made before
going to Cleveland.

Mariners Were Unable To Sweep

I guess we could say the Mariners
had the opportunity to  sweep
though a couple games before
they had wins by the bat  of Cal
Raleigh.

The Mariners  lost to the White
Sox Thursday  evening 3-2 in
ten innings.  The  Mariners were
down 2-1 going  into the bottom
of the 9th when Julio  Rodriguez
hit a home run to tie the game.
It was a high pitch  and many
hitters can't  do that for a home
run.

The 10th inning the White Sox
were able to get a single moving
the runner to third. They were
able to get a grounder to third
baseman Josh Rojas to score
the runner. Unfortunately  the
Mariners were unable to do
the same.

The Mariners  were able to get
seven innings  out of Emerson
Hancock who was called up.
He surrendered two runs back
to back however that was it.
I expect  the Mariners  will
add another reliever on Friday.

I have read a few fans on line
saying the Mariners should
wait to the trading deadline
to make trades. The Mariners
do have weaknesses they should
take care of before the deadline.
Even if they wait for a hitter I
believe they need to go out and
get a closer. We have  no idea
how often Munoz can pitch and
when Santos will be  available.
Can't  overuse Stanek and he is
really  the only other reliever who
can close. Even those like Trent
Thornton are being overused.

The Mariners  now take on the
Rangers and Cleveland in the
next two series.  The  Mariners
offense needs to come alive.
Go M's!

Mariners Win in 10th

The Mariners had a good outing from
Bryce Miller who went seven innings
giving up no runs and two hits.

The trouble again was the offense
and the bullpen in the 9th inning.
The bottom of the seventh Luke
Raley hit a home run making it
1-0. Luis Robert Jr hit a home run
in the 9th to tie the game off of
Michael Baumann. He again showed
he can't pitch in the ninth inning.
He is fine in the 7th and 8th.

Munoz is day to day and Stanek has
been pitching a lot lately for having
low scoring and tight games of late.
The Mariners should have Saucedo
pitching the ninth if Munoz and Stanek
are not available.

The Mariners front office need to
acquire a reliever who can pitch
the 8th and ninth  if necessary.

Now the Mariners can sweep the
white Sox on Thursday. Luis Castillo
is scheduled to start however Emerson
Hancock was seen so there is speculation
that he may start Thursday and Castillo
will start Friday against the Rangers.

The Mariners bullpen continues
pitching a lot if Hancock.starts Thursday
means more of the bullpen. Do they
start Castillo in his rotation spot or not.
We will find out Thursday the thinking
will go. Go mariners!

Seahawks Last OTA

This is the last week going on
in OTA's for the off season. The
players  have a break  for a
month before training camp
begins.

For some the OTA will be important
to be invited back to camp. The
training camp  roster is 90. The
opening day roster is 52 players
and their is practice squad as
well.

The practice  squad  is around
18 players so means 20 players
won't be back at the end of camp.
They could return at some point
to be added to the practice squad
or injuries happen. When injuries
happen the practice squad players
have the best chance of making it.

Even being one of the players cut
from the 90 man roster  often other
teams may need their service or be
added  to  their practice  squad.
When you need to add a player during
the season you can take from another
practice  squad or a free agent.

Teams will add players and delete
others throughout off-season too.
Usually  announced in the media.
I  don't  take the announcement
very  serious or pay attention since
the odds of the player making the
roster is not great. I may glance
especially  if  it is a player  that
played college  ball locally or they
played for the Seahawks before.

There is talk that the NFL regular
season may go to 18 games begin
in 2024. If so the pre-season games
will go to two games. This means
rookies and those added to 90 man
roster will have give quicker impressions.

There is talk as well they may go away
with OTA's during the off-season which
means training  camp  will be more
vital. This has been talked by the players
association.  This makes sense allowing
veterans  having a better chance retaining
their jobs.

You have to figure NFL  career average is
three years so extending  careers makes
sense. Rookies who are drafted sign four
year contracts though some obviously
don't  last that long.

They have changed the rules on kickoffs
for this season.  The kickoffs will still be
kicked from the same spot the 35 yard
line. The placement  of the players will
be placed different. You can't  have any
amount of players on one side and where
they starting off is different to. There won't
be as far a distance to go. Also they are
going to pentalize  kicks going into the
end zone  since 80 percent  have gone
through. Also they are changing  the
pentalize if the ball goes out of bounds
inside the 20 yard line. They are expecting
more receivers and tight ends to be in
on kickoffs. We could see DK Metcalf in
on kickoffs. This is to help less injuries
tohappen as well.  It will  be interesting
to see what happens.  Go Hawks!

Mariners Win Game 2

The Mariners came from.behind
once again to beat Chicago WS
4-3.

The Mariners turned out didn't
have Bryan Woo to start. They
ended up bringing up Jhonathan
Diaz from triple A. Woo didn't have
to go on the injured list so may
make his next start or sooner.
He wasn't able to throw on the
side lines after his last start was
the reason.

Diaz at the beginning looked like a
triple A to begin with. He loaded
the bases in the second inning with
no outs however surrounded only
one run. In the third inning he gave
up back to back home runs but
that was it in five and one-thirds
inning pitched.  The Mariners
scored a run in the second and
third to keep it close 3-2.

In the 7th inning with Josh Rojas
and Julio Rodriguez on first and
second on a 3-0 count Cal Raleigh
hit a double for both to score. It was
his second double in the game
scoring both runers.  The Mariners
had only five hits in the game
however all contributed to the
4-3 win by the Mariners.

Trent Thornton came in the sixth
with one out. He pitched threw
the seventh. Michael Baumann
got two outs in the eighth both
with a runner on third and didn't
score. Baumann gave up the
only hit from the relievers. Tayler
Saucedo got the third out in the
eighth inning. Ryne Stanek got
another save in the 9th.

The Mariners had to make some
moves before the game. Matt
Bowman and Kirby Snead were
designated for assignment.
Besides Diaz the Mariners recalled
reliever Eduardo Bazardo. The
Mariners will start Bryce Miller
on Wednesday. We hope  for a
rebound game from.Bryce.
Go Mariners.

Mariners Walk Off Grand Slam

The first five innings Monday night
gsme looked like either team's game
as the score was 0-0. The sixth inning
Luis Robert Jr. hit a two-run homer
into the upper level left field. I thought
it was foul ball however hard to see.
Logan Gilbert pitched very well
deserving better fate. He gave up
a third run in the 7th. The Mariners
went to bullpen.

Mariners brought in Matt Bowman
in his first outing since being called
up from Tacoma after signing as
a free agent. He had pitched with
Minnesota Twins then acquired by
Arizona this season. He gave up
a home run to outfielder Corey Julks.
The score Chicago 4-0. Didn't look
good for the Mariners.

Dominic Canzone has good timing
though not a good average. He led
the 8th with  a home run.  Mitch
Hsniger hit a single to drive in
two runs. With the bases loaded
Luke Raley layed down the perfect
bunt to tie the game.

In the 9th inning Ryne Stanek pitched
and didn't give up a run. In the bottom of the 9th the Mariners were able to load
the bases once again. Cal Raleigh all
he had to do is hit a ball far enough for
JP Crawford score from third or walk.
Hre wanted to put final mark on
it so he huts a grand slam into the
right field stands. Pitcher knew it
as soon as Cal hit with contact.
Cal knows when to do it.

Dylan Moore missed the gsme as
his wife went into labor. He may
miss the is series. The Mariners
face the Texas Rangers at home
Friday through Sunday. The Rangers
play the Dodgers in Los Angeles
Tuesday through Thursday so
hopefully a good sign. The Rangers
are five and a half games behind the
Mariners. Go M's.

A Blockbuster Trade By Mariners

Even the Mariners CEO John Stanton says
they will be involved in trades leading into
the deadline at the end of July.

This week the Mariners are host to the
Chicago White Sox for four games. The
White Sox have the worst record in the
major leagues so the Mariners should
win at least three games. The starting
should be back to normal after being
in Kansas City.

The Mariners offense seemed  improved
in Kansas City though the pitching wasn't.
Now the main reason  for this story having
to do with a blockbuster  trade. The White
Sox have one of the players  that if the
Mariners  made a blockbuster trade could
be the guy. The player is outfielder Luis
Robert Jr. His stats don't  look good so
far this season  and the main reason he
was out for a month. The reason  he would
be appealing besides being a talented right
handed bat he is under team control until
2027 I believe.

I have seen other Mariners sites reporters
mentioning  not only trading top prospect
Cole Young  in this trade however number
two who used to be one Harry Ford  as well.
Ford is put in there since  starting catcher
Cal Raleigh  won't  be  a free agent until
2027 unless the Mariners  sign him to an
extension.  Making a blockbuster trade  will
not only give the Mariners  a great chance
to make playoffs but to make the WorldSeries.
This would  make the likelihood Cal would
sign an extension along with a couple pitchers
in the rotation.

I don't  like to  have Harry Ford  to  be traded.
The major reason  not many catchers are that
high of a prospect. Ok Cal will be the starter
however Harry  has the athletic talent to play
elsewhere. Also the Mariners  would have a
top knotched catcher when Cal has a day off
or he is dh. Ford could play a corner outfield
spot when one of the guys needs a day off or
third or first base. He would be a super utility
player who can catch. Also what happens if
Cal gets hurt and has to go on the injured
list like Ty France on Sunday.  Right now
Mitch Garver  would be the best choice.

Speaking of Garver if the trade goes down
then likely he and Mitch Haniger  would
share dh for the most part if they are both
still on team. There are other players to
that be considered as blockbuster but we
get to that later.  The Mariners  are several
infielders the Mariners  could trade to the
White Sox as prospects.  We could include
Ryan Bliss who is on the team now. I  am
not suggesting  it but the White Sox  will
see him in action. I  have  no idea how
many prospects the White Sox  have  in
their system  who are infielders.

I would like a trade with the White Sox
this week  as they are in town. Who needs
to wait until the deadline. Even a blockbuster
trade means the Mariners  would not be
done. As we see the Mariners need to improve
the bullpen too. Stay tuned!

Mariners Win Wild Game

The Mariners won game three Sunday
afternoon in Kansas City 6-5 in ten
innings.

The Mariners scored in the first.inning
with leading off the first inning once
again with a home run. Didn't seem
like s good idea. The Royals tied the
score in the fifth inning off of George
Kirby who pitched well. The Mariners
scored two more runs in the top of
the 7th. Kirby went 7 innings so it
looked like the Mariners would win however  that is trouble came in
the 9th and 10th innings.

Not sure why however Andre Munoz
pitched the eighth inning without
any runs scored.  The Mariners
brought in Michael Baumann in the
9th and he gave a two-run homer.
Didn't make sense in a close game
although Munoz did pitch in the
meat of the order.

In the 10th inning Julio drove in
one run and Cal Raleigh two more.
The Royals made it close with a
two-run off of Austin Voth and
with two-outs Tayler Saucedo came
in to nail it down.

Ty France did go on the injured list.
Tyler Locklear who came up to
take France had a double to drive
in a run. The at bat before Locklear
hit a ball that should have been a
home run however the wind blew
it back in for a fly out..At least good
he had that hit. This could be the
era of a new first baseman for the
Mariners. It doesn't mean France
will be done for the Mariners however
moves could be made when Ty is back.
They made a few other moves including
designated for assignment two pitchers
from Tacoma to make room on the
40-man roster. Go.Mariners.

Mariners Lose Middle Game

The Seattle Mariners pitching is
not doing well as the offense is
starting to get better.

Luis Castillo and the Mariners
lost Saturday afternoon 8-4.
One off the few games when
scoring at least four runs they
don't win.

Castillo was only able to go five
innings and giving up five of the
eight runs. Royals scored a run in
the first and second inning. The
Mariners scored in the first inning
however couldn't hold unto the
lead.

The Mariners scored two runs in
the fifth inning to take the lead
temporarily once again. In the
bottom of the fifth scoring five
more against Castillo. He left
the game down 5-3.

The Mariners scored a run in the
sixth inning to come within one
run. The Royals ended up scoring
two runs 7-4. The Mariners could
not shake that lead not scoring
again.

JP Crawford once again led off the
game with a solo home run. Later
on Mitch Garver who is starting to
hit a solo home run as well.

Kirby Snead who has pitched
well some when arrived gave up
the two runs in the sixth inning.
Collin Snider recently called up
pitched another inning gave up
no runs. In the 8th inning Trent
Thorton who.pitched well  Friday
have up a fun. With Munoz not
pitching lately Thornton and Stanek
have been pitching a lot lately.

The Mariners were missing Ty France
who missed the game by being hit
Friday night. There is possibility Ty
could go on the injured list. Who would
take his position on the roster is a few possibilities. They could bring up
Tyler Locklear who is having a good
year in double A and recently promoted
to Tacoma.  A decision might be
made whether Jorge Polanco maybe
available soon too. Luke Raley started
at first on Saturday while Dylan Moore
was in left field. Go Mariners

.

Mariners Blow Big Lead

The Seattle Mariners had their
biggest offensive explosion
of the season in the first inning.
The Mariners loaded the bases
with one out. Mitch Garver walked
bringing Dylan Moore with the first
run of the game. Mitch Haniger
hit a double clearing the based
making it 4-0. Recently acquired
Victor Robles hits s double
bringing Haniger. Ryan Bliss had
his first major league home run.
The first inning ended with the
Mariners leading 7-0. All things
looked bright.

In the 4th inning Ty France hit a
double scoring JP Crawford. In
the bottom of the Royals started
their comeback scoring four runs.
Bobby Witt Jr. scored the first run
then MJ Melendez hit a three -run
homer making it 8-4. In the sixth
inning Mitch Garver hit a double
to score Dylan Moore. Score then
was Mariners 9 Royals 4.

Bryce Miller struggled in the 4th inning
was still in the game in the sixth inning.
He ended up loading the bases. Bryce
should have been taken out before then.
Tayler Saucedo entered the game and gave up two hits. The Royals  scored three
times to make it Mariners ahead 9-7.

Trent Thornton came in to finish the
6th followed by the 7th. Colkin Snider
did a fine job in the 8th inning not allowing
a score. The Royals scored a run with
a ground out with runners on second and third. Bobby Witt hits a triple to tie
the game at 9-9. Nelson Velázquez
hits into a fielder's choice to win the game.

We have found it is important to win the first game of a series. I wonder if the
Mariners are able to win game two or three.

Bryan Woo and Bullpen Shutout Oakland

The Seattle Mariners won Thursday
night 3-0 behind Bryan Woo and the
bullpen.

Woo grew up in the area so many
family and friends were onhand.
Woo  hasn't given up a run in his
two years against the team  he
rooted for growing up.

Again Woo went six innings giving
up two hits, no walks and six strikeouts.
This year the hitters haven't figured
out his fastball. Woo  now has an era
of 1.07 in the six games he has started this season so far. He has the best era of
any Mariners pitchers first six starts of
a season. Woo is now on top.of Randy
Johnson who is now in second place.
Something to say about Woo. Can we say
he is the Mariners fifth starter. It would be
hard to say who is just like the number one
thru four as well. They all seem to be
on the same level.

The Mariners bullpen of Voth, Baumann
and Stanek didn't give up a hit or a run.
Voth and Baumann each had one strike
out while Stanek didn't have one.

Mitch Garver who has had a tough start
to the season was the hitting hero  to
some degree. Dylan Moore hit a sacrifice
fly in the third inning to score Mitch
Garver who had walked. In the 4th
inning Garver hit a single to score Cal
Raleigh and in the ninth Mitch hit a solo
home run.

Though the Mariners still have work
offensively at least Garver  was involved
in all three runs.

The Mariners now go to Kansas City
Royals. The Royals are having a good season however with Bryce Miller, Luis
Miller and  George Kirby starting this
Sunday the Mariners has a good shot
at winning another series.

The Texas Rangers didn't play Thursday
lost half a game so.now back of the
Mariners by five games. The Astros didn't
play either. Go M's

Oakland Evens Series

The Seattle Mariners offense continues
to struggle. Wednesday night Oakland's
starter Joey Estes was pitching a perfect
game into the seventh inning. Oh by the
way this was his 5th start of the season
for Oakland.

Estes began the season in teiple-A. He
spent some of April on the injured list.
He made his first start May 11 which was
against the Mariners where he went five
innings giving up just two hits and one run on a homer.

In the seventh inning Estes gave up a double to JP Crawford for the first hit
of the game.  Julio walked with one
out then Ty France was hit by a pitch
with two outs. Estes had been lifted
after one out. Mitch Garver pinch hit
for Luke Raley with a lefty on the mound.
Also the bases loaded however Garver
grounded out.

Oakland was leading 2-0 at the time
and only one was earned. Oakland
hit a homer in the third inning and in
the fifth the defense caused the second
run. Daz Cameron son of former Mariner
Mike Cameron hit a single then Logan
Gilbert threw wild trying to pick Daz
off and he went on to the third. Cal
Raleigh had a passed ball allowing
Daz to score.

Logan Gilbert went seven innings giving
up five hits, the two runs though only
the homer was earned.  The Mariners
had opportunity again in the 8th inning
with Mitch Haniger and Dominic Canzone
each had a single with no outs however
the Mariners couldn't have another hit
to score.

In the 9th inning Julio Rodriguez had
his fifth home run of the season making
it 2-1. Three outs later the game for
Oakland.

Despite the fact they had a perfect
game thrown at them into the 7th
inning the Mariners still could have
won the game with a hit and better
defense.

The Mariners and Oakland play
Thursday afternoon. Bryan Woo
starts giving the Mariners a good
chance. Now we have to see if
the offense can come alive. Go M's.

Mariners Take Game One On Road Trip

The Seattle Mariners started a six
game road trip beginning with the
A's on Tuesday evening.

The Mariners looked like they could
score in the first inning loading the
bases with one out. The Mariners
as they have often on the season
couldn't bring a run home. Luke Raley struck out and Mitch Haniger pops out.

The third inning the Mariners ended
up three runs. JP Crawford and Josh
Rojas each had a hit. Julio hit a ground
out without  a score. Ty France hit a
double to score Crawford. Luke Raley
followed with another double to make
it 3-0.

Bottom of the 3rd former Mariner hits
a single to left field Raley drops. It was
a difficult catch. Makes the score 3-1.
Marines scored in the top of the 4th
when Josh Rojas singled in Dylan
Moore. It looked like the Mariners should
win at that point. Unfortunately they didn't
score again.

The A's not a good offensive team either
should be easy for the Mariners in the same manner as the Angels over the
weekend.

Oakland scored a second run in the sixth
inning on a ground out. George Kirby
pitched into the sixth inning giving up
two runs on the night left the game with
no outs. Austin Voth entered getting
three outs. Stanek pitched the seventh.
Trent Thornton struggled in the 8th
however no.runs scored.

The 9th inning was Andre Munoz. We
know even a good closer like Munoz
going to struggle sometimes. He gave
up a couple hits then threw a wild pitch
with two outs so Oakland another run.
Were the Mariners going to let Oakland
off the hook. Munoz had to leave the
game turning an ankle while covering
home plate while runner slid home.

Tayler Saucedo who has pitched in the
9th inning before was able to get the
final out. It was tight as a single could
have tied the game. Had that happened
Oakland may have won. Now we have
to.find if Munoz will be OK. Stay tuned.

The Texas Rangers lost to.the
Detroit Tigers at home 3-1. The
Mariners are now five and a half
games ahead of Rangers. The
Astros beat the Cardinals 8-5.
The Astros still seven games
behind the Mariners.

Logan Gilbert starts Wednesday for
the Mariners. We hope a quality start.
The signing of outfielder Victor Robles
the Mariners waived third baseman
Luis Urias who ended up being
outrighted to Tacoma. As a veteran
Luis could choose to become a
free agent. We will see what happens.
He did play for the Rainiers in a day
game. He had one hit driving in
three runs and scoring twice. Tacoma
won  15-6 over Reno. They play Reno
the rest of the week at home.

Mariners Take On Oakland Tuesday

Though the Mariners offense still
isn't great it seemed to have improved
to some degree when facing the Angels
in sweeping them.

The Mariners releasing bench coach
Brown during last week. Mitch Haniger
said he liked his approach however
when things are not going well change
hss to happen.

Speaking of Haniger his defense wasn't
particular good and doesn't help not
hitting at the same time. He seems
recently he has improved in both areas.

Servais the Mariners are still in the mode
of platooning which I am not a big fan of.
If a particular player is struggling at the
plate platooning makes sense however
if he is hitting well platooning doesn't
make sense unless you want to give
him one day. The Mariners had Monday
off after going through a stretch of playing every day.

Canzone seems to be the hitter playing
right field against righties. This meas
either Mitch Garver or Mitch Haniger
at dh. The decision should be who is
hitting the best at the time  and the
history of who they are facing. I would like to see Canzone stay in the game when they face a lefty later on depending on the situation. What I mean if Canzone's spot
is up with no one on base I would like to see him hit against the lefty. The score
should be taken in consideration as well.
The Mariners have runners on base I
could see pinch hitting for him with either Haniger or Garver. Also how Canzone has done in his previous at bats as well. I
believe a hitter like Canzone still needs to face some lefties.

Now we see how the offense goes
against the A's. We should expect
the Mariners win two out of three or
sweep them. The Mariners face the Royals
this coming weekend. A very good team
the measure of the offense will give
us a better idea whether improvement
or not. Go Mariners.

Mariners Make A Move Monday

The Mariners signed  a player that won't be high risk or bolster their offense
a lot. Outfielder Victor Robles who was releast by the Washington National
signed the minimum prorated by the
Mariners. Whether he will make a difference we will see.

The Mariners sent outfielder Jonatan
Clase back down to Tacoma. Clase has
had two opportunities with the Mariners
this year. Robles who has played 14
games with the Nationals with little
success. He is a right handed bat
which his success has been against
lefties for the most part.

Robles was in his seventh season
for the Nationals. His best season
was 2017 when he played his first
full season with Nationals. He hit
.255 in 155 games. Robles had
17 home runs and 65 runs batted in.
He had 28 stolen bases. Since that
year he hasn't played a lot except
in 2022 when  he played in 132 games.
Fobles hit only .224.

A pretty good hitter against lefties
he will probably will be in left field
when Luke Raley has a day off.
This could be a platoon situation
to some degree..Mitch Haniger
will be in right field platooning
with Dominic Canzone and having
some at bats at dh as well.

Robles like Clase we may see him
pinch run on occasion when he
doesn't start. Most likely going
in for Haniger late in the game.
Again how he does will decide his
fate.

Update on Luis Urias he has played
in seven games for the Tacoma Rainiers
since being sent down.  He is hitting .250
with one home run. His appearance
with the Mariners will depend on how he
does as well as Ryan Bliss. Hevonly has
one hit in 11 at bats but a small sample.
He is good in the clubhouse so hopefully
do well for the Mariners in the long run.

Whether stays will depend how he
does before Jorge Polanco returns
from the injured list. He will share
time with Dylan Moore at second
base. Most likely Dylan will play
third against lefties when giving
Josh Rojas a day off.

The series in Oakland the Mariners face
two righties in the first two games then
lefty JP Sears in game three. Bliss
and Robles may start that game.

The Mariners are 7-3 in their last ten
games playing Oakland they hope
to gain especially playing the Royals
in Kansas City over the weekend.
The Royals right now are in second
place behind Cleveland in AL central.
They are 4-6 in their last ten games
so could help.out the Mariners.

The schedule favors the Mariners
now in June. We just hope for
improvement in the offense.
Go Mariners!

Mariners Sweep Angels

The Seattle Mariners had their
first series sweep of the season
beating the Angels 5-1.

The game was closer than the score
indicates. The Mariners led when
Luke Raley hit a home run.in the 4th
putting the Mariners up 1-0. It stayed
that way unti the botton of the 8th.

Luke Raley was hit by a pitch with
the bases loaded scoring Josh Rojas
made it 2-0. On a 3-2 pitch Mitch
Garver hit a hard one to left field
scoring Julio, Ty France and Luke
Raley. There was a theme to it with
Luke Raley in the mix.

The top of the  9th Mike Baumann
took to the mound. If it were not  for
Mitch Garver's double Andre Munoz
would have pitched with a two run
lead. The Mariners have Monday
off with Munoz and the gang.

JP Crawford had his first throwing
error of the season going over to
Ty France at first. This allowed left
fielder Pillar to score.  The Angels
left two runners on the field after
getting the third out.

The Mariners have Monday off
going of to Oakland to play the
A's. George Kirby will.start the
series on Tuesday.

#6 top prospect 19 year old
Jonny Farmelo got off to a.
slow season. In his last ten
games he is batting .377 and
over all .286 at Modesto.

#7 prospect Tai Peete got over a
slow start is hitting .450 in his last ten.
#8 Tyler Locklear first baseman
recently was promoted to triple A
Tacoma. He has played six games
for  Tacoma batting .304.  We could
see Locklear in a major leagues before
the end of the season..

Mariner Shutout the Angels

The Seattle Mariners did what first
place teams do to a last place team
in the division. Saturday late afternoon
the beat the Los Angeles Angels 9-0.
Not sure the Mariners will sweep the
series however they have the opportunity
anyway.

The Mariners scored their first run when Julio drove in Ryan Bliss in the third. In fact Bliss  walked twice, had his first hit and scored  three times. In the 4th inning
Ryan Bliss walked again to load the bases
then JP Crawford hit grand salami.

In the sixth inning Luke Raley hit a home
run to make it 6-0. Julio singled to score
Ryan Bliss again. Cal Raleigh hits a double
scoring Dylan Moore and Julio making it
9-0. Julio eventually left the game since
they had a large lead.

The Mariners had nine hits on the day
with Julio having three of them. No
one else had more than one. The
Mariners hitters had only struck out
six timed.Sounds like a season low.

Gabe Speier was put on the injured
list after complaining to Servais
his left arm was hurting. An MRI
showed he has a turn rotator cuff
strain. The good news he is expected
to be lost two to three weeks. Collins
Snider was recalled from Tacoma.

Bryce Miller recorded the win going
six innings. He gave up three hits and
walked one while striking out nine.

The bullpen going three innings gave
up two hits but no walks. Luis Castillo is
scheduled to start Sunday.

part.

Most of the games will be broadcast
on Saturday with three games at night
that we know of. The opening game

The Washington State Cougars games

well. The  have one Friday night game
