game road trip beginning with the
A's on Tuesday evening.
The Mariners looked like they could
score in the first inning loading the
bases with one out. The Mariners
as they have often on the season
couldn't bring a run home. Luke Raley struck out and Mitch Haniger pops out.
The third inning the Mariners ended
up three runs. JP Crawford and Josh
Rojas each had a hit. Julio hit a ground
out without a score. Ty France hit a
double to score Crawford. Luke Raley
followed with another double to make
it 3-0.
Bottom of the 3rd former Mariner hits
a single to left field Raley drops. It was
a difficult catch. Makes the score 3-1.
Marines scored in the top of the 4th
when Josh Rojas singled in Dylan
Moore. It looked like the Mariners should
win at that point. Unfortunately they didn't
score again.
The A's not a good offensive team either
should be easy for the Mariners in the same manner as the Angels over the
weekend.
Oakland scored a second run in the sixth
inning on a ground out. George Kirby
pitched into the sixth inning giving up
two runs on the night left the game with
no outs. Austin Voth entered getting
three outs. Stanek pitched the seventh.
Trent Thornton struggled in the 8th
however no.runs scored.
The 9th inning was Andre Munoz. We
know even a good closer like Munoz
going to struggle sometimes. He gave
up a couple hits then threw a wild pitch
with two outs so Oakland another run.
Were the Mariners going to let Oakland
off the hook. Munoz had to leave the
game turning an ankle while covering
home plate while runner slid home.
Tayler Saucedo who has pitched in the
9th inning before was able to get the
final out. It was tight as a single could
have tied the game. Had that happened
Oakland may have won. Now we have
to.find if Munoz will be OK. Stay tuned.
The Texas Rangers lost to.the
Detroit Tigers at home 3-1. The
Mariners are now five and a half
games ahead of Rangers. The
Astros beat the Cardinals 8-5.
The Astros still seven games
behind the Mariners.
Logan Gilbert starts Wednesday for
the Mariners. We hope a quality start.
The signing of outfielder Victor Robles
the Mariners waived third baseman
Luis Urias who ended up being
outrighted to Tacoma. As a veteran
Luis could choose to become a
free agent. We will see what happens.
He did play for the Rainiers in a day
game. He had one hit driving in
three runs and scoring twice. Tacoma
won 15-6 over Reno. They play Reno
the rest of the week at home.
