once again to beat Chicago WS
4-3.
The Mariners turned out didn't
have Bryan Woo to start. They
ended up bringing up Jhonathan
Diaz from triple A. Woo didn't have
to go on the injured list so may
make his next start or sooner.
He wasn't able to throw on the
side lines after his last start was
the reason.
Diaz at the beginning looked like a
triple A to begin with. He loaded
the bases in the second inning with
no outs however surrounded only
one run. In the third inning he gave
up back to back home runs but
that was it in five and one-thirds
inning pitched. The Mariners
scored a run in the second and
third to keep it close 3-2.
In the 7th inning with Josh Rojas
and Julio Rodriguez on first and
second on a 3-0 count Cal Raleigh
hit a double for both to score. It was
his second double in the game
scoring both runers. The Mariners
had only five hits in the game
however all contributed to the
4-3 win by the Mariners.
Trent Thornton came in the sixth
with one out. He pitched threw
the seventh. Michael Baumann
got two outs in the eighth both
with a runner on third and didn't
score. Baumann gave up the
only hit from the relievers. Tayler
Saucedo got the third out in the
eighth inning. Ryne Stanek got
another save in the 9th.
The Mariners had to make some
moves before the game. Matt
Bowman and Kirby Snead were
designated for assignment.
Besides Diaz the Mariners recalled
reliever Eduardo Bazardo. The
Mariners will start Bryce Miller
on Wednesday. We hope for a
rebound game from.Bryce.
Go Mariners.
