night 3-0 behind Bryan Woo and the
bullpen.
Woo grew up in the area so many
family and friends were onhand.
Woo hasn't given up a run in his
two years against the team he
rooted for growing up.
Again Woo went six innings giving
up two hits, no walks and six strikeouts.
This year the hitters haven't figured
out his fastball. Woo now has an era
of 1.07 in the six games he has started this season so far. He has the best era of
any Mariners pitchers first six starts of
a season. Woo is now on top.of Randy
Johnson who is now in second place.
Something to say about Woo. Can we say
he is the Mariners fifth starter. It would be
hard to say who is just like the number one
thru four as well. They all seem to be
on the same level.
The Mariners bullpen of Voth, Baumann
and Stanek didn't give up a hit or a run.
Voth and Baumann each had one strike
out while Stanek didn't have one.
Mitch Garver who has had a tough start
to the season was the hitting hero to
some degree. Dylan Moore hit a sacrifice
fly in the third inning to score Mitch
Garver who had walked. In the 4th
inning Garver hit a single to score Cal
Raleigh and in the ninth Mitch hit a solo
home run.
Though the Mariners still have work
offensively at least Garver was involved
in all three runs.
The Mariners now go to Kansas City
Royals. The Royals are having a good season however with Bryce Miller, Luis
Miller and George Kirby starting this
Sunday the Mariners has a good shot
at winning another series.
The Texas Rangers didn't play Thursday
lost half a game so.now back of the
Mariners by five games. The Astros didn't
play either. Go M's
