White Sox turned out to be genius
although they lost the game.
Logan Gilbert had probably his best
start of the season going eight innings
giving up two hits and the Mariners
shutting out the Rangers 5-0. Logan
didn't give up a walk and struck out
nine.
The Mariners didn't score until the
4th inning when they had back to
back doubles scoring Mitch Haniger
from second. The 5th inning Josh
Rojas scored from second base
on a wild pitch making it 2-0. Scoring
runs with two outs has been rare
this season however happened both
innings. The Mariners had no runners
on base with two outs when Haniger
double then Luke Raley followed with
his in the 4th.
The seventh inning was key with
Tyler Locklear hitting a solo home
run. In the 8th the Mariners added
two more runs. Dominic Canzone
hit a ball to left field scoring Ryan Bliss who had pinched run for Haniger. Raley
went to third. Hr scored on another
wild pitch.
Before the two runs in the 8th Andre
Munoz was warming up for the 9th.
Austin Voth who ended up going into
the game pitched the ninth without
giving up a hit or a walk. Voth has
done so well in his last seven outings
he has given one run on two hits,
walked one and struck out four.
It is hard to do much better than
this.
The Mariners have Monday off and
start a three game series in Cleveland.
Bryce Miller will start Tuesday followed
by Bryan Woo on Wednesday and Luis Castillo on.Thursday. The Guardians
are having a good season so this
to should be a good series. Go M's!
