A Blockbuster Trade By Mariners

Even the Mariners CEO John Stanton says
they will be involved in trades leading into
the deadline at the end of July.

This week the Mariners are host to the
Chicago White Sox for four games. The
White Sox have the worst record in the
major leagues so the Mariners should
win at least three games. The starting
should be back to normal after being
in Kansas City.

The Mariners offense seemed  improved
in Kansas City though the pitching wasn't.
Now the main reason  for this story having
to do with a blockbuster  trade. The White
Sox have one of the players  that if the
Mariners  made a blockbuster trade could
be the guy. The player is outfielder Luis
Robert Jr. His stats don't  look good so
far this season  and the main reason he
was out for a month. The reason  he would
be appealing besides being a talented right
handed bat he is under team control until
2027 I believe.

I have seen other Mariners sites reporters
mentioning  not only trading top prospect
Cole Young  in this trade however number
two who used to be one Harry Ford  as well.
Ford is put in there since  starting catcher
Cal Raleigh  won't  be  a free agent until
2027 unless the Mariners  sign him to an
extension.  Making a blockbuster trade  will
not only give the Mariners  a great chance
to make playoffs but to make the WorldSeries.
This would  make the likelihood Cal would
sign an extension along with a couple pitchers
in the rotation.

I don't  like to  have Harry Ford  to  be traded.
The major reason  not many catchers are that
high of a prospect. Ok Cal will be the starter
however Harry  has the athletic talent to play
elsewhere. Also the Mariners  would have a
top knotched catcher when Cal has a day off
or he is dh. Ford could play a corner outfield
spot when one of the guys needs a day off or
third or first base. He would be a super utility
player who can catch. Also what happens if
Cal gets hurt and has to go on the injured
list like Ty France on Sunday.  Right now
Mitch Garver  would be the best choice.

Speaking of Garver if the trade goes down
then likely he and Mitch Haniger  would
share dh for the most part if they are both
still on team. There are other players to
that be considered as blockbuster but we
get to that later.  The Mariners  are several
infielders the Mariners  could trade to the
White Sox as prospects.  We could include
Ryan Bliss who is on the team now. I  am
not suggesting  it but the White Sox  will
see him in action. I  have  no idea how
many prospects the White Sox  have  in
their system  who are infielders.

I would like a trade with the White Sox
this week  as they are in town. Who needs
to wait until the deadline. Even a blockbuster
trade means the Mariners  would not be
done. As we see the Mariners need to improve
the bullpen too. Stay tuned!
