Mariners Make A Move Monday

The Mariners signed  a player that won't be high risk or bolster their offense
a lot. Outfielder Victor Robles who was releast by the Washington National
signed the minimum prorated by the
Mariners. Whether he will make a difference we will see.

The Mariners sent outfielder Jonatan
Clase back down to Tacoma. Clase has
had two opportunities with the Mariners
this year. Robles who has played 14
games with the Nationals with little
success. He is a right handed bat
which his success has been against
lefties for the most part.

Robles was in his seventh season
for the Nationals. His best season
was 2017 when he played his first
full season with Nationals. He hit
.255 in 155 games. Robles had
17 home runs and 65 runs batted in.
He had 28 stolen bases. Since that
year he hasn't played a lot except
in 2022 when  he played in 132 games.
Fobles hit only .224.

A pretty good hitter against lefties
he will probably will be in left field
when Luke Raley has a day off.
This could be a platoon situation
to some degree..Mitch Haniger
will be in right field platooning
with Dominic Canzone and having
some at bats at dh as well.

Robles like Clase we may see him
pinch run on occasion when he
doesn't start. Most likely going
in for Haniger late in the game.
Again how he does will decide his
fate.

Update on Luis Urias he has played
in seven games for the Tacoma Rainiers
since being sent down.  He is hitting .250
with one home run. His appearance
with the Mariners will depend on how he
does as well as Ryan Bliss. Hevonly has
one hit in 11 at bats but a small sample.
He is good in the clubhouse so hopefully
do well for the Mariners in the long run.

Whether stays will depend how he
does before Jorge Polanco returns
from the injured list. He will share
time with Dylan Moore at second
base. Most likely Dylan will play
third against lefties when giving
Josh Rojas a day off.

The series in Oakland the Mariners face
two righties in the first two games then
lefty JP Sears in game three. Bliss
and Robles may start that game.

The Mariners are 7-3 in their last ten
games playing Oakland they hope
to gain especially playing the Royals
in Kansas City over the weekend.
The Royals right now are in second
place behind Cleveland in AL central.
They are 4-6 in their last ten games
so could help.out the Mariners.

The schedule favors the Mariners
now in June. We just hope for
improvement in the offense.
Go Mariners!
