The final was Mariners 7 Rays 4
The Rays scored first on a home run
by Brandon Lowe in the first inning.
That was short lived lead as Julio
Rodriguez hit a two-run homer with
Randy Arozarena on base.
In the third inning Cal Raleigh hit
a three-run homer for the second
game in a row then Julio followed
with a solo shot for his second on
the night. Julio now has 23 home
runs on the season.
In the six inning Junior Caminero
who faced Cal in the final of the
home run derby at the all-star game
week hit a three-run homer of his
own to make the game interesting.
The Mariners final run was Cole
Young scoring on a wild pitch.
What was interesting Cole walked
all four of his appearances in the
game.
Now the Mariners on Sunday will
see if they can sweep the series
again the Rays and make it two
in a row. The Mariners have Monday
off as they head to Baltimore to play
the Orioles for three games.
Before the game was the ceremony
to retire Ichiro Suzuki's number 51.
He had another enjoyable speech
in English. He told the team that they
can go far into the playoffs just seize
the moment under pressure. They
certainly started off on the right track.
Go M's.
