to the New York Mets Sunday evening
7-3.
This is now the second series on the
road after taking eight of nine at home
last week. There has been a mix of
poor pitching and good pitching with
the lack of hitting. We could give credit
to the Orioles and the Mets too.
The Mets scored first in the second
with three runs then Julio who had
doubled scored on Polanco single
At that point the Mariners still had a
chance. In the fifth inning Mark Vientos
hit a three run homer making it hard
for the Mariners then a couple more hits
allowed the Mets to score their final
run of the game.
Cal Raleigh hit a two run homer in the
7th inning for his 47th of the season.
It looks it won't be long before Cal
breaks the record books for catchers
and it could happen in Philadelphia.
We will see.
We hope the Mariners can do better
against the Phillies to salvage this
road trip.
George Kirby who had pitched well
recently including in Baltimore gave
Zip all seven runs in four and two-thirds
innings. Teyler Sauce recently called up
went 2 and 1/3 innings and Jackson
Kowar pitched the 8th.
Now the Mariners be in Philadelphia
for the next three games go M's.
