however it didn't happen in Mariners
fashion.
The game was a shutout for both
teams heading into the 7th inning.
Julio was able to score the go ahead
run however Logan Gilbert who did
a great job gave up two runs then
Gabe Speier a third. Gilbert has had
trouble getting through six innings
prior since coming off the injured.
The question is should the Mariners
allowed Gilbert to start the 7th. With
the lead he would have been the
winning pitcher. This is hardest part
of a manager's job is when to take
the starting pitcher out especially
with one run scored. Never know how
the relievers will do either.
Down by two runs Julio has another hit
and Eugenio Suarez was able to get on
as well. They pulled a double steal.
Josh Naylor ground out second scoring
Julio and Suarez was able to come in
on a Dominic Canzone sacrifice fly.
Unfortunately the Orioles scored on
a double down the right field corner
for the win. Had looked like it was
going to go into extra innings.
It was an amazing pitching duel since
the game was delayed in starting with
rain. Thursday the game will be played
in the afternoon. The Mariners will
then go onto New York to play the
Mets. Go M's.
