Mariners Shut Out Pirates Again

For the second game in the series on
Saturday night the Mariners Shutout
the Pirates.

It wasn't quite the same this time
as the Mariners were only able to
score one run themselves. This
means the outcome didn't come
until the last out of the game.

Ben Williamson hit a double in the
sixth inning to bring Jorge Polanco
across the plate. The Mariners had
other opportunities however like
often could bring them home. Makes
it frustrating where one mistake could
cost you the same but that didn't
happen for the Mariners anyway..

Luis Castillo pitched a wonderful game
for the Mariners going seven innings
on two hits. Matt Brash and Andre Munoz
took care of the eighth and ninth.

The Mariners now will see if they can
sweep the Pirates on Sunday night.
At the very least have won the series.
Go M's.

Mariners Shutout Pirates

The Seattle Mariners had an afternoon game
at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates

Final Seattle 6 Pittsburgh 0

Bryan Woo again went six innings
giving up three hits, two walks and
eight strike outs. He has pitched
more games of six innings or more
then any starter in the majors this
season.

Cal Raleigh was back at it again
having two home runs while Randy
Arozarena and Dylan Moore each
had one.

Now we see if the Mariners can take
game two on Saturday night with
Luis  Castillo on the mound.
Go M's.

Mariners Split Series

It would have been nice if the
Mariners could have won this
series. After winning by one run
Wednesday night they lost by
one run Thursday night 3-2.

The Royals scored two runs
in the seventh inning for the
win. Dominic Canzone led off
the ninth with a home run.
The Mariners were able to get
two more runners on base so
had opportunity to tie or win
the game.

The Mariners had ten hits while
the Royals had five. Most times
they won't win with two runs scored.
Offense needs to play more small
ball.

The weekend series will be against
the Pittsburgh Pirates so hopefully
can take two out of three. Go M's.

Mariners Win One Run Game

The Mariners win game three on
Wednesday night 3-2.

The Royals scored a run in the first
inning off Logan Gilbert. He and
the Royals starter only went four and
two-thirds innings throwing too many
pitches.

The Mariners finally scored in the
sixth inning when Randy Arozarena
hit his fourth home run in last three
games. He drove in another run
as well. So did Julio drive in a run.
Cal Raleigh had the day off. He
was announced as the starting
catcher in the all-star game.

Matt Brash gave up the other run
to the Royals. It was his first run
given up on the season so we will
excuse him.

Emerson Hancock was sent down to
Tacoma. This will allow him to pitch
in order before the all-star break.
Logan Evans is being called up
from Tacoma to start on Thursday
night. Bryan Woo will start on
Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates
This means each starter will be
moved back a day. Go M's.

Oh by the way 17th one run win on
the season.

Washington Huskie Football Going On

The Washington Huskies football team
will be starting fall camp soon.

Look on offense, besides the starting
receivers there is not any with much
college experience. They will get it
when the chance comes. The same
for the offensive line.

Quentin Moore returns at tight end.
Also Decker DeGraaf who had an
outstanding freshman season last year.

Jonah Coleman comes back as the
starting running back. Adam Mohammed
will get much of the reps when Jonah
needs a rest. Jordan Washington expected
to be the third running back.

On defense the Huskies have a lot
of experience however most are
unfamiliar names as they are transfers.

We will look more at these guys as time
passes on. Go Dawgs!

Royals Even Series In Seattle Tuesday Night

We hope the Mariners can win this
four game series however they lost
Tuesday night 6-3 so series is at 2-2.

Emerson Hancock started and
struggled however he was able to go six
innings giving up five runs. The bullpen
needed him to go that long.

Only used two relievers. Juan Burgos
made his Mariners and manor league
debut. He pitched the eighth and ninth
innings. He gave up one run with two
outs in the top of the  ninth.

The Mariners first run was in the second
inning Randy Arozarena hit a solo home
run. His third home run in two days.
The Mariners had seven hits on the
night with Arozarena having two.
Now we see if the Mariners can rebound
on Wednesday.  Go M's.

Seahawks Tuesday

Last week the Seahawks had off
season mini camp. They are now
on break. Either vacation or working
out. Preseason camp will begin at
the end of July.

The Seahawks were looking at
trading tight end Noah Fant
to the Pittsburgh Steelers to team
up with former Seahawks receiver
DK Metcalf. On Monday morning
the Steelers made a trade with
the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins
send defensive back Jalen Ramsey
and their tight Jonnu Smith to the
Steelers. Now Fant could be traded
to the Dolphins now. I am sure other
teams are being discussed.

Trading Fant would save the Seahawks
over $9 million in space when it comes to
the salary cap. This would allow the
Seahawks trade or sign another player.
Though Fant is a good receiver the
change in the offense the tight end
is important in the running game.

The question still is whether running
back Kenneth Walker III fits into
that scheme for the Seahawks along
with his health. Stay tuned. Go Hawks!

Mariners Offense Struggles Again
