pitchers in the first and second
rounds. Since the last three years
drafting position players early
they have gone back to pitching.
In the first round the Mariners
drafted Jurrangelo Cijntje who
throws from both sides. There
had bee. reports this was who
they were leaning to. He is
from Curacao but pitched at
Mississippi State. He has been
a starter so likely start out this
way. Depending how fast he
comes up the system we could
see him in the bullpen. We will
see won't we. He throws the ball
hard from both sides. Can reach
up to 99 miles per hour.
The second round with the #55
pick Ryan Sloan a high school
right handed pitcher from York
Illinois. He throws the ball hard to.
Throws changeup and a slider
too.
The draft is 20 rounds so.let you
know who else they draft tomorrow.
