five and two-thirds innings. He gave
up two runs without a walk. Woo
gave up a home run in the fourth inning
and another in the sixth inning.
One key is the Mariners scored first
in the second inning when Dylan
Moore hit a triple scoring two runners.
Alvarez hit a long home run making
it Mariners 2-1 lead. Alvarez did much
of the damage going 4 for 4. Why the
Mariners continue to pitch to him
is the question. Sort of like they did
with Mike Trout.
Jorge Polanco hit a solo home run to
match Alvarez in the bottom of the
4th. The Astros scored in the top
of the sixth to make it 3-2 Mariners.
Luke Raley hit a three run homer
in the bottom of the sixth. The Astros
scored a run in the seventh and the
eighth to make it interesting. Andre
Munoz came in and closed the door
in the 9th. Final Mariners 6 Astros 4
Julio Rodriguez had to leave the game
running into the fence. XRays showed
being negative so likely day to day right
now. News came out that Ty France was
out on outright waivers. He can still play
unless another team picks him up
or the Mariners release. Still on the
roster right now however Tyler Locklear
will start seeing action at first base in
the near future.
Reliever Mike Baumann was traded to
the San Francisco for cash considerations.
The Mariners will start series against
the Los Angeles Angels Monday at
home. Bryce Miller starts Monday,
Logan Gilbert Tuesday and Luis
Castillo on Wednesday.
The Mariners will have Thursday off
and have a series against the White
Sox in Chicago beginning Friday.
They will play the Red Sox the following
Monday through Wednesday. Have
that Thursday off then a three game
series at home against the Philadelphia
Phillies beginning of August.
