Orioles Beat Mariners Again

Logan Gilbert didn't have his
usual outstanding pitching.
Even the best starting pitcher
will struggle once in a while.

The Orioles scored three runs
in the third inning and another
in the fifth off Gilbert. He went
five and one-third innings. It
wasn't a good outing for him.
I woukd take this from Gilbert
since the last time he gave up
four runs was on May 30.

The Mariners bullpen did a
great job with three relievers
the rest of the way. No hits
or walks and no runs of course.

The Mariners offense continues
to struggle as they only scored
one run and that was a homer
by Cal Raleigh his 15th off the
season. He leads all Mariners
in home runs.

Final Orioles 4 Mariners 1

The Mariners had five hits in
the game. Some good news
Mitch Garver pinch hit for
Josh Rojas in the 8th inning
and had a single. Normally
I would say why pinch hit
for Rojas again when he
has the highest average
in the lineup. Rojas average
is .257 compared to Garver's
.176. I am sure you can do
the math. The only reason
I would use Garver in this
spot was the Mariners needed
a spark. I am not that is Servais
reason however that would have
been mine.

Thursday's game is in the afternoon
with Bryce Miller on the mound.
He hasn't pitched well of late so
we hope to see a better result from
him. The most important though
the bats come alive.

Servais has moved the lineup
around to see anything can
change. So far nothing has
changed.

I would say to stop platooning
at third, left and right field.
I could see bringing in a right
handed hitter into the lineup
on occasion depending when
the last time the Mariners were
facing a lefty. I would like them
to start Rojas, Canzone and Raley
four games a week. They could
start Dylan Moore in one game
against a lefty but leave Canzone
and Raley in. Another game Rojas
would start and Haniger would
start in right. I would even like
Haniger and Victor Robles in
the lineup against a righty. Again
this would depend how Canzone
and Raley are hitting.. The opposing
team knows how the Mariners operate
so a change would be nice. Go Mariners!
