day went much like the first
two days of the major league
draft. They picked seven pitchers
round elleven through 20.
These picks didn't take long
with 300 players picked in three
hours.
In total the Mariners have 14
pitchers and six position players.
Day three seven pitchers, two
third baseman and the 20 pick
was an outfielder just like the
10th pick.
The eleventh pick taken was
pitcher Christian Little from
LSU. Christian started college
at Vanderbilt before moving
to LSU in 2022. This year his
stats don't look and he became
a full-time reliever. We will see
what will come of him. Outside
of the first two picks most of
these pitchers are relievers.
Last year he was drafted in
the 19th rou d by the New York
Mets. Mariners must have seen
something to move up this much.
12th rounderanother right handed
pitcher in Evan Truitt. He is six foot
tall while Christian is four inches
taller. Evan went to Charleston
Southern. He started and relieved
so see what the Mariners do.
13th and 14th rounds where the
two third baseman taaken. First
taken Brandon Eike from VCU.
His first two years were at North
Carolina before transferring to
VCU.he didn't play much his first
two seasons. He showed some
power while hitting very good.
Since he was drafted first the
Mariners could have him at
a higher level. The other is Austin
St. Laurant who went to Appalachian
State. He played there three years.
His power and average went up.
Hard to know whether he sign with
the Mariners or not.
The next five pitchers are all right
handers. We will have to figure
out where they go and be signed
by the Mariners.
The last pick outfielder Ryan Picollo
went to St. Joseph's. Has played three
three years so he could stay in school
so we will have to see.
We will have more details on the guys
on this last day. Who signs and who
doesn't.
