when the all-star break is over however
the Mariners have 64 games remaining.
The team record right now 52-46.
If the Mariners split the rest of their
games they will have 84 wins. They
win at 55% rate of right now it would
be only one more win to make at 85.
Most likely the Mariners won't make
the playoffs at that. A lot depends
on how the Astros do coming down
the stretch. The Rangers will have to
win at a good rate to beat the Mariners
or the Astros.
Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with
a batting average of .267. He has only
10 home runs and 35 rbi's. Both are third
on the team. For the team to have real
success it will be important if Julio can
double his home run and rbi's. Actually
the rbi's be the most important.
Cal Raleigh has 20 home runs and 61
rbi's. It would be good if he can stay
at the same rate. Mitch Garver has
12 home runs and 37 rbi's. If he can
increase his production as well as
Julio that will quite a bit. Adding a
productive bat in the middle of the
lineup would be the best answer.
The rest of the lineup just do their
part. Get rid of platooning would
be a good solution as well. Scoring
four or five runs a game more often
than three or less. Speaking of less
we have to do that with strikeouts.
They know what they have to do
the thing is will they. The starting
pitching stay the same and improving
the bullpen. Go M's!
