it now down to the Pac-2 with them
and the Oregon State Beavers. At this
point no one knows whether the
Conference expands or the two
teams join another conference. They
may have it figured out in the next year
or two or figured out for them.
The Beavers lost their head coach to
Michigan State and many of them
have transferred too. The Cougars
still have their head coach and many players to though top players did
transfer to. I heard recently that the
teams will be able to psy their players
besides the NIL. How that will work
for the Cougars as well as the Beavers
we will find out. This won't be for
football but all the sport teams though football will get the high percentage.
More news will come out on that too.
The Cougars will start with a new
quarterback. The number one quarterback
listed right now is John Mateer a redshirt
sophomore. Backing him up is Zevi Eckhaus a senior from Bryant out of
the Big South. He was first team last
year so we see if he steps up.
The offense line looks experience
so we will see how that goes. Playing
against Mountain West school for
the most of the games we will see.
How we determine will be seen at the
beginning of the seen including
playing the Huskies in Lumen Field
in Seattle. We may know how the
Huskies are doing going into the
Big Ten as well the Cougars in their
competition. This should be interesting
fall for sure. I hope success for both
teams.
At running back expected to start Djouvensky Schlenbaker a redshirt
sophomore. He played in 12 games
with only 33 carries for 146. His
backup is expected to be redshirt
freshman Leo Pulalasi.
The Cougars will go again with
three wide receivers. At one receiver
soot will be sophomore Carlos
Hernandez who had 24 receptions
for 258 yards. The most experienced
is Kyle Williams who had 61 catches
for 842 yards and six touchdowns.
We could see more this year as a
senior. The third receiver is Kris
Hutson a senior transfer from
Oregon. He played limited having
only one catch as a junior. Had
a good year as a sophomore.
The Cougars have three receivers
who transfers this season to them.
Will let you know about them later.
At right end will be Cooper Mather's
a senior out of Odea high school
in Seattle.. He played in ten games
with 21 receptions for 251 yards
and one touchdown.
We will look at the defense next
time on the Cougars.
