Cougars Blown Out Second Half

The Washington State Cougars
were leading 31-27 at halftime
against SMU in the championship
game of the Acrisure Holiday
Invitational Wednesday Wednesday
night.

The middle of the second half
SMU went on a 10-0 run putting
them ahead and they eventually
had a 16 point lead with two
minutes to go.

Final SMU 77 WSU 60

SMU out rebounded the Cougars
51 to 25 leading to 21-6 points
on second chances. The Cougars
again made 10 out of 33 3pt shots
while SMU didn't shoot nearly as
many going 5 of 15. My opinion
the Cougars either make higher
percentage or shoot less 3s.

SMU shot better from the free
throw line making 16 of 19 while
the Cougars made 8 of 15. The
free throw line and 3s are going
to cost the Cougars more games
without improvement.

SMU had five player score in
double figures while the Cougars
had three. The Cougars again
were led by Nate Calmese with
15 points and six assists. LeJuan
Watts and Ethan Price each had
12.  Again the Cougars went mostly
with a six man rotation.

The Cougars next game will be
Monday against Nevada on their
court. Nevada is 6-1 and their only
loss was to Vanderbilt 73-71.
They beat the Washington Huskies
in their court 63-53 on November 9
their second game of the season.
Go Cougs!
