Cougars Upset Again and More

For gge second week in a row
the WSU  Cougars who were having
a very good season was upset
by the Oregon State Beavers on
their home field. Not east to play
against a rival on their field especially
when they are not having a good season.

Much like Huskies been much of
the season the Cougars stats were
better than the Beavers. Of course
the main stat still comes down to
the score.

The Beavers stopped the Cougars the
first time they had the ball then came
down for a TD. Backup quarterback
came in and ran for 15 yards with
7:05 remain in the first quarter. The
Cougars scored on next possession
taking almost three minutes when
wide receiver Carlos Hernandez caught
a 28 yard touchdown from qb John
Mateer.

The second quarter early on the
Cougars kicked a field to take one
of times to be ahead in the game.
Beavers scored two touchdowns
with short runs. John Mateer
ran for two yards and a touchdown
between the two by the Beavers.

The Beavers led by four heading
into the third quarter. The Beavers kicked a field at 11:29 in the period.
The Cougars tied the score almost
two minutes later on a Kyle  Williams
54 yard pass and run.  At the 1:41
remaining Beavers Jermaine Terry II
43 yard pass by qb Ben Gulbranson.

The Cougars tied the score 31-31
at 12:04 in the 4th quarter before
excitement happened. The Cougars
took the lead with an interception
for 29 yards. That happened almost
a minute later. The Beavers tied
the score 2:45 remaining. Still anyone's  game.

The Beavers kicked a field goal
with 20 seconds left in the game. A tough loss for sure.

The Cougars now with a 8-3 record
play host next Saturday to Wyoming
to end the regular season.

On Friday the Washington Huskies
men's basketball team beat Alcorn
State 77-60. Coach Sprinkle changed
up the starting lineup. They started
three different guards.  Tyler Harris
scored 27 points while freshman
Zoom Diallo had 12. They were the
only two in double figures. Both
had played significant minutes
in the previous game thought
didn't start. The third different starter
was Luis Kortright.

The Huskies next game will be
on November 28 and starting
time is 3:30 pm. It is the last
game of the month. Wouldn't
be surprised the same lineup
starts. Go Dawgs!
