the year against the Cougars this
coming Saturday. Both teams have
lost two straight. The Cowboys
however have 2-9 record on the season. Both wins have been in West Coast Conference.
The Cowboys though gave Boise
State a scare losing 17-13. The
Cougars are now 8-3 losing close
games and upsets to San Diego
State and Oregon State. Both losses
came right at the end of the games.
Cougars quarterback John Mateer
is having an outstanding season in
his first time starting in college
football after being a backup the
previous season. There is a school
that has offered Mateer an NIL
deal at $1million so the Cougars
will have to do something to keep
him at the school. Though the team
has had a good season and we hope
for a win that they will go to very good
bowl game. Though Coach Deckert
is a good and popular coach they
could loss more players to the transfer
portal this time around. This would hurt
in recruiting as well.
The season leaders for the Cowboys
is much lower as well as their record
than the Cougars. Evan Svoboda the
Cowboy's quarterback has thrown for
1112 yards on 192 throws and less than 50% have been completed. He
has only four touchdowns compared
to 28 by Mateer. He has seven interceptions which is more than
Mateer.
Sam Scott is the Cowboys leading
rusher at running back with 435
yards. He has 92 carries only and
his average per carry is 4.7. Also
hss four TDs. Joh n Mateer leads
the Cougars with 770 yards and
14 TDs on the ground.
Jaylen Sargent is the Cowboys
leading receiver with 21 catches
and two touchdowns. Kyle
Williams leads the Cougars with
56 catches and 12 touchdowns.
The Cougars are 17.5 favorites
at home. I don't see them being
upset for the third time in a
row especially in front of the
home crowd in the final regular
season game. Go Cougs!
