struggling as they don't have the
top prospects as in years past.
They are currently 4-11 and last in
the Northwest league.
Ben Williamson who is the only top prospect playing third base. At this
point hard to tell who will be the
Mariners future third baseman however
he seems at this time wanting to be
the guy.
Right now Williamson is the Mariners
#16 prospect. At Everett he leads
with an average of .343. He has only
one he run though leads with 11 RBIs.
On the pitching side #13 prospect
Michael Morales has started three
games with 1-0 record and an era
of 2.60.
The Modesto Nuts are doing well being
10-3 and tied for first place in the
California league. This is where majority
of the Mariners prospects are right.
We could see some moving to Everett
by summer time.
Outfielder Lazaro Montes is hitting
.260 at Modesto. Nice is at the plate
he is walking more than striking out.
Hope to see his average going up
over the weeks ahead.
#6 prospect outfielder Jonny Carmelo
is hitting only .222. This is his first
professional season. He has three home
runs however has been struck out 17
times compared to nine walks.
#7 Tai Peete infielder is hitting .273
however striking out a lot as well.
#9 infielder Michael Arroyo is hitting
.255 though has a nice on base
percentage of .350.
#14 outfielder Auden Smith is hitting
.271 and has outstanding on base
percentage of .375. He has three
home runs in 12 games.
#26 pitcher Brody Hopkins is the
highest prospect as far as pitching
goes at Modesto. He has only started
two games with an era of 5.40.
At this point his future doesn't look
bright but never know.
When this years draft comes up who
comes into the top ten prospects
and who drops down.
We will look at triple A again as well
as double A in our next update. We
will do so in the beginning of May.
