This Week Look At Mariners Prospects

We are going to look at the Mariners
top prospects beginning with each
team.

The Tacoma Rainer's are on top of the
Pacific Coast League with 8-3 record

The Arkansas Travelers have only played
five games since started last Friday.
They are 1-4 so not good start.

High Level Single A Everett Aqua Sox
have same record at 1-4

Low level A Modesto Nuts are 3-2
and second place in California League.

Cole Young and Harry Ford the Mariners
top two prospects are at double A.
Cole is hitting .286 with three RBIs and no home runs yet. Harry has gotten off slow
having no hits in 11 at bats. See how he progresses.

Colt Emerson Mariners number one pick
and third top prospect is at Modesto.
Colt  has gotten off to a good start with .318 average after five games and has
two home runs. First home run was on
his first swing of the season.

Lazaro Montes outfielder and number
four prospect is hitting .350 with one
home run. He has a similar personality
of Julio Rodriguez.

Shortstop Felnin Celsten is at Arizona
Rookie league since Emerson is at
Modesto. Most likely he will move to
Modesto when Emerson moves to
Everett. No stats on him as of yet.
Celsten is Mariners number five
prospect out of Dominican Republic
where he played last year.

#6 prospect is outfielder Jonny Farmelo
another top draft pick last year. He is at
Modesto as well. As you can see many
of their top prospects are playing at
Modesto. He is currently hitting .227
however has two home runs out of his
five hits.

Number seven prospect Tai Peete another top pick last year is listed at shortstop
as well and playing at Modesto. The
Mariners are staffed with a lot of
midinfielders among top prospects.
Tai  has gotten off to a slow start
batting .188. We see how he does
throughout the season.

Number eight prospect is Tyler
Locklear a first baseman who
hss played third as well. Tyler
currently hitting .300 though
no home runs as of yet. Depending
on how things go on the big club
and he continues to hit well we
could be on the big club later in
the season. Tyler is currently
is at double A Arkansas.

Number nine is Michael Arroyo who
is an infielder at Modesto hitting
.300. He has struck out seven times
in five games but walked six times.
With the other infielders they have
coming up would be surprised if
he will be a super utility player for
the Mariners unless he is traded
since they have mostly infielders
in their top ten list.

Number ten prospect is Jonatan
Clase who is outfielder. He is
playing triple A this year after
double A last season. Clase is
a switch hitter and steals a lot
of bases along with some power
as he had 20 home runs last year.

Missed a few games with injury
however Clase back with the Rainers.
Currently hitting .333;with one home
run and one stolen base. The Mariners
have to call up an outfielder it will
be either Clase or Cade Marlowe.

The Mariners top pitching prospect
and currently starting at number
five in the rotation is Emerson Hancock
he is listed at number 11. The next
pitcher is #13 Michael Morales. He is
a right handed starter at Everett. Morales
started one game going five innings
without giving up a run.

Next time on the prospects we will
look at some others from 12 thru 20.
Go Mariners!
