Mariners Sweep Reds

Great news the Seattle Mariners
swept the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday
afternoon at home 5-1.

Bryce Miller pitched a marvelous
game going six innings. He gave
up one run in the second inning.
A homer and the only hit given up
by the Mariners all day. On the
post game Bryce said he didn't
feel very well which makes this
even more special.

Trent Thornton kept the door shut
in the seventh follow by Gabe Speier
in the eighth and Austin Voth to finish
the game. The relievers didn't give
up a walk either. Only Miller walked
a batter.

What helped the Mariners in the
series was lead off hitter Jonathan
India went hitless in the series in
12 at bats. He struck 7 times as
well..

Cal Raleigh hit a home in the bottom
of the second. Mitch Garver hit a
home run in the 6th and a third one
in the 7th by Josh Rojas. They were
all solo home runs.

Jonatan Clase who walked scored
on a Mitch Haniger single after stealing
second base . Haniger scored the final run a Cal Raleigh walk with bases loaded.
Clase who has a lot of speed scored
easily though the ball wasn't hit
deeply to left field.

The Mariners have three games starting
with Emerson Hancock on Friday at
Colorado. Luis Castillo will start on
Saturday and George Kirby on Sunday.

Julio Rodriguez had a couple doubles
on the day though wasn't able to score.
We hope this get him going and the
offense at the same time. Go Mariners.
