UTEP. He was the 18th pick in round 4.
Knight stayed healthy starting all 37 games. Last year he led the FBS with
84 solo tackles. Bobby Wagner and
Jordynn Brooks are gone. The Seahawks
signed free agents Tyrel Dodson and
Jerome Baker during the offseason
so right now Knight would be listed as the
third linebacker. I am sure Knight is the
kind of linebacker coach Michael Macdonald is looking for.
At the 21st pick of the 4th round the Seahawks drafted tight end AJ Barner
out of Michigan. Barner played two years
at Indiana before transferring to Michigan for his senior season. He says he will do whatever the Seahawks need him to do.
He I'd now the third tight end on the Seahawks.
Jaden Hicks was the first WSU Cougar
taken in the draft by the Kansas City
Chiefs as a defensive back. He was the
33rd pick in the 4th round. Another Cougar
defensive end Brennan Jackson was picked #19 in the fifth round by the Los Angeles
Rams. A third Cougar Chau Smith-Wade
another defensive back was taken by the
Carolina Panthers as the 22nd pick in the
Fifth round.
Edefuan Ulofoshio was the first Huskies player taken on Saturday. The linebacker
was picked #25 in the fifth round by the
Buffalo Bills. His teammate Dominic
Hampton was picked right after him
by the Washington Commanders.
That was it for round five as far Cougars
and Huskies go.
The Seahawks drafted cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett as the 36th pick
in the fifth round. The Seahawks have
had the history of picking up some
good players in the fifth round. Out
of Auburn Pritchett right now would
be counted on as depth if he makes
the team.
The first pick by the Seahawks in the sixth round is offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea
from Utah. He played both right tackle
and guard. The Seahawks most likely
see him as depth at the guard position
however could play tackle if necessary
but guard will be where he seems his
time at.
The second pick for the Seahawks at
number 16 in the sixth round is DJ
James another cornerback out of
Auburn. Known for his speed he just
needs to be more consistent in making
tackles.
The Seahawks traded a fourth round pick
to the Denver Broncos adding a fifth rounder which happen to be Nehemiah Pritchett. Also added a third six rounder
and sending their seventh rounder to
the Broncos. Seahawks always find a
way to pick up at least one additional
player in the draft. Denver was able to get
the Seahawks fourth rounder that was the
second pick of that round.
The Seahawks #31 pick in the sixth round they picked in the trade with Denver. They went for offensive lineman is Michael
Jerell from Findlay University. He to is
expected to be a backup at guard.
The question will all the players drafted
make the Seahawks roster for 2024. The
three picked in the sixth round would
be considered as backups.
Devin Culp one of the Huskies tight ends
was the last Washington player drafted
by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the
7th round. Fellow tight Jack Westover
is expected to sign a undrafted free agent
contract with the Seattle Seahawks. A
walkons at Washington Westover knows how to show his skills and try to see
whether he makes into the NFL. Culp
on the other hand will join former Husky
tight end Cade Otton with Tampa Bay
along with wide receiver Jalen McMillan.
Running back Dillon Johnson who had
a good season with the Huskies is
expected to sign a free agent deal
with the Tennessee Titans.
We will follow up the days ahead who else
from Washington and Washington State
who might sign as free agents. Also any
familiar names who may sign with the
Seahawks.
