Miller and Mariners Win Series Opener

Bryce Miller pitched his straight
outstanding game in row. Bryce
went six and one-third innings
giving up three hits and three
walks. Gave up a run in the
seventh before leaving with one
out. The run wasn't earned. He
struck out four batters and
threw 100 pitches.

Bryce Miller is now 2-1 with
an era of 1.96. The final
score was 4-2 Mariners.
Thornton came in to finish
off the seventh. Andre Munoz
pitch the eighth striking out
two of the hitters he faced.
Ryne Stanek pitched the 9th.
He gave up a home run however
was able to perserve the victory.

The Mariners scored their runs
in the 2nd and the 4th innings
all with two outs. This was
something they had trouble
doing last season so improvement
for sure. In the 2nd inning Luis
Urias was hit by a pitch with the
bases loaded and Mitch Haniger.

In the 4th inning Julio hit a single
with bases load driving in Mitch
Garver and Dylan Moore. JP
Crawford scored the final run
on a hit by Ty France.

Most of the Mariners lineup is
still hitting under .200 however
still made the six hits on the
day count. Ty France leads with
an average of .333 and Mitch
Haniger is at .261. Julio Rodriguez
was the next one up who played in
the game at .200.

Winning a series especially a three
game helps by winning the first one.
Emerson Hancock starts Saturday
night. We hope he can turn things
around after giving up eight runs
in his last start.
Go Mariners!
