Mariners Take Care Of Cleveland Game 1

The Mariners did enough to win
game one in a three game series.
Noe means they have a fifty fifty
chance to take two out of three.

Emerson Hancock started out
well in his first start of the season.
He did well the first two innings
showing what he is capable of.
Third inning he struggled giving
up two runs after the Mariners
scored four runs in the bottom
of the second. Three of the runs
came on a home run from Canzone.
The two runs could have been in
part he had to sit on the bench
for a little while.

Emerson looked good again
in the 4th and 5th then went
into the sixth. The thought was
he would only go five. He gave
up a run in the sixth before
leaving with one out. The run
might not happened however
Julio misjudged and the ball
went off his glove into stands
for a homer.

Tayler Saucedo came in following
Hancock to get the final two outs.
Fellow lefty Gabe Speier pitched
the seventh. He gave up one hit
but struck out two. Andre Munoz
pitched the 8th primary because
it was the middle of the batting
order for Guardians. He gave up
a home run to Josh Naylor..

Ryne Stanek pitched the 9th
against the bottom of Guardians
order. After the struggle against
the Red Sox he was able to get
through getting all three outs.
Recorded his first save of the
season. Hancock was able to
have the win.

Luis Castillo will start game two
and we will see if he recover from
his last outing in the opener. It
won't be easy since he has to start
against Shane Bieber who won his
first game going six innings and
shutting out Oakland.

The Mariners still in second place
being half game behind the Rangers
while a half game behind the Angels.
Go Mariners!
