Seahawks decided to go to
another offensive coordinator
they went another direction
in the offense as well.
The Seahawks decided to
go with a more running
offense and going to start
with two wide receivers
instead of three. Also to
bring in a fullback as well.
The Seahawks decided to
release long time receiver
Tyler Lockett who is second
in many career records at
wide receiver behind Seahawks
hall of famer Steve Largent.
Lockett eventually signed with
the Tennessee Titans to continue
his NFL career. Also DK Metcalf
asked to be traded which he
ended up with the Pittsburgh
Steelers. Jaxon Smith-Njigba
a first round pick in 2023 draft
is the only remaining starter.
Right after Metcalf the Seahawks
quarterback Geno Smith demanded
a trade too and joined former coach
Pete Carroll with the Las Vegas
Raiders.
Seahawks signed former Rams
receiver Cooper Kupp along
with Marques Valdes-Scantling
and River Cracraft. Jake Bobo
who the Seahawks signed as
undrafted college free agent
has been the fourth receiver.
The Seahawks drafted Tory
Horton this year in the 5th
round as well as Ricky White III
in the seventh round. They
have a few other receivers
vying for a spot. How many
receivers they may keep on
the active roster this coming
season it is hard to know
right now. A guess would
be four or five along with
a couple on the practice
squad.
Since the Seahawks will go
with 24 or 25 offensive players
there are not a lot open spaces.
We will see how it works.
Go Hawks!
