Mariners Minor League This Week

The Tacoma Rainiers are no
longer in the bottom of the
league though have 17-24
record and have won three
games in a row heading into
Thursday game. The Angels
triple A team at the bottom.

Second baseman Cole Young
was named player of the week
between May 6 and the 11th.
He hit .455 during that time.
He currently hitting .233.
Harry Ford has done well late
to increasing his average to
.291. He was in the low 200s.
The question is he about ready
to be called up to Seattle we
will see.

At double A Arkansas pitcher
Adam Seminaris was named
pitcher of the week for his
performance on May 10 where
he went five innings allowing
two hits and no runs while
striking out five. The Mariners
are not allowing starters to go
more than five innings.

Seminaris is a lefty who is 26
years old and in his fifth year
in the minors. He signed as a
minor league free agent during
the last offseason. He isn't
listed among the Mariners top
30 prospects so he could be
a steal.

 Everett AcquaSox still at the
bottom of the league though
have several top prospects.
Next week let you know how
the guys are doing.

Modesto Nuts are still at the
top winning at 60 percent clip.
Ryan Sloan number two pick
in last year's draft the former
high school pitcher went four
innings this week and gave up
two runs. His era is currently
at 3.54. He walked a couple
and struck out four hitters.

We will let you know Sloan process
will be over the season as well as
others.

The Mariners will have the third
overall in the upcoming draft.
This should be an outstanding
pick whether a pitcher or s
position player. Go M's.
